NO RESERVE!!!! For sale is my 1983 Honda XL600R. It's in super condition for the year and is a blast to ride!! I purchased this bike from a local fellow that had freshened it up after it sat in storage for about a decade or so. He basically went through it and got it going. He changed the fluids, gaskets and plugs as well as rebuilt the carburetion system. He also went through the wiring and brakes. The front brake seems to drag a slight amount sometimes when you're just pushing the bike around. Probably needs adjusting some. The headlight and taillight work as well as the instrument cluster light and neutral light. The brake light was working but quit on me a week ago. Probably something simple. There are no signal lights but you can find originals on Ebay or just put on after market lights. The tires are in excellent condition. He installed new hand grips and painted a few parts (I wish he hadn't as there is some overspray on some of the plastic but not too bad). Forks and seals are great. He did a ring job on it as well. I'm not 100% sure of the actual milage though. The bike runs good and doesn't smoke at all. It has TONS of power and torque. If you've ever riden one of these vintage XL's, you know what I mean. The carbs could use tweaking a bit as it will shoot a small amount of black smoke when you really get on it for a second but it's not bad. The seat has no rips and all of the plastic is in good condition with only a minor crack in the top of one of the side plates. The tank is metal and as you can see from the pictures, it has a dent in the right side. Very typical and not too bad. The tank is super clean on the inside. The speedometer works but the needle is broken off and the cluster plexi-glass is cloudy. It will leak s bit of oil out of the side, case cover if it sits a long while. The decompression lever works but I usually don't use it. The bike is kick start only and will catch within the first few kicks even after sitting a while. It will flood fast though if you choke it too much. The transmission shifts as it should and doesn't pop out of any gears. The clutch is new as well. All in all, this is a nice example of a classic, Honda XL from this era that is ridable. I love these and have had a few over the years. This one is by far the best I've had. These are not too easy to come by anymore in this condition. It's not a show bike by any means but one that you can get on and enjoy now. It could use a few little things but mainly it needs to be ridden. I just don't have the time to ride it enough at the moment and would rather pass it along to someone that can use it now. The bike is dirty from use and sitting in the garage but does clean up well, I just didn't shine it up for the auction. It gets a lot of looks and compliments as it is kind of rare among the new, dual-sport scene!! Please ask questions if you have any. I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime. There is NO RESERVE so bid to own. $250 deposit due in 24 hours after the bidding ends with the final payment due in 72 hours. Paypal, cash or certified funds are fine. Shipping is up to the buyer but I will help load it or work with your shipper. I can store it for a resoable amount of time but don't want it here for another 6 months!! Thanks and happy bidding!! Someone is going to have fun with this old, Honda thumper!!!
