I would like to explain why I believe that this would be one of those times! Though 1973 was the final year for the classic Ford Mustang many argue that it was one of the best. This particular 1973 Ford helps establish their belief and lends credibility to that statement. Let me first say that this classic Ford Mustang is an exact representation of what the car looked like when it officially presented for the model year. Most enthusiasts that I have run across are amazed by the cars beauty & originality. If you want a $40k restored show car please look elsewhere. However if you desire to travel back in time and space to enjoy an unmolested classic pony please continue reading! To start this factory original {2/B Code Bright Red Ford paint} on this pony is beautiful. From every angle this pony presents quite a picture & garners great deal of attention every time it leaves the garage. You won’t be able to make it a full block without someone waving at you or giving you the ole thumbs up! The car has been repainted once outside of its factory original covering. The craftsmanship and overall finish is very nice {there are a few paint chips present}. The paint has plenty of depth and easily maintains a high gloss shine at any given time of day. There are no waves in the body panels & there is no bondo or filler to be found. There lower black rocker panel designations really enhance the vehicle. Their glory has faded a bit since yester year has passed us by, however they still compliment the car wonderfully! I feel confident in saying that any Mustang enthusiast would happy with this classic Ford. Onlookers absolutely LOVE this stallion! This vehicles body panels & complete exterior structure exemplifies great continuity. The body is very uniform and all of the panels seem to be original to the vehicle. Originally sold at Lone Star Ford {a Houston dealership} this Blue Oval has spent its entire life in Texas {D.S.O. 57} & California. After several years in Texas the original owner sold it {approx 1983}. The second owner kept the car in sunny Antioch California until 2011 {litany of records}. The vehicle is structurally sound and rock solid underneath / throughout. Since the car is a Life long Dry climate vehicle rust is not an issue at all! Now that I have briefly spoken about the vehicles firm foundation & eye appeal let me expound on the interior a bit. The {CW / code} White Comfort Weave custom interior with black accents is nothing short of amazing! The complete interior décor group is original to the vehicle. You rarely find forty year old cars with its original interior. However this one is not only original it’s in stellar condition. “UNBELIEVEABLE ORIGINAL QUALITY FORD UPHOLSTERY”! This car proves to be true time piece! The factory black stitching and molded accents can still be traced in the upholstery {much better than the after market interior kits}. Both seats back support are firm & the seat buns are crisp. Upon releasing the lever and laying the seats forward you will be extremely impressed with what you find in back. This pony came from fully loaded from the factory with power windows, AM/FM radio and full console. It also has factory Selectaire Air Conditioning “a much needed option in Texas” & it still works! The exterior / interior lights and illumination work as they should & the original trunk light does as well. Remote sport mirrors adorn this Blue Oval with the aggressive trademark NASA hood that screams performance! It is worth mentioning that this Mustang has the highly desired tilt away steering as well {RARE}! The seat belt warning indicator even still works! Sharp Mustang ….. highly optioned, comfortable, collectable & 100% stock. This amazing Ford Mustang has actually only been driven a tender 81,000 miles {documented}! If you have driven other classic Mustangs {as I have} you will develop an immediate appreciation for this low mileage pony upon driving it! Both of the previous owners really went above and beyond the call of duty to preserve this classic car. I have been in the classic car collecting hobby for quite a while. That being said I have yet to run across any classic car that is more solid & original as this pony. It has certainly been religiously maintained, cherished and cared for throughout its life. Protection from the elements and quality control was certainly a high priority. The renown 351 Cleveland is a 4V {Q-Code} model. Once again the car is extremely original!!! The motor has not been repainted like most of motors that lay in the engine compartments of classic Mustangs that are displayed on this site. It is very clean but you may find a few paint chips missing from the old Ford Blue engine enamel {truth & lending….nothing to hide}! If you are just looking for another pretty face there are plenty of engine artist to admire. No Picasso job here but, I can assure you that this vehicles motor beauty is demonstrated by its performance! The block that is in this car was one of the highest h.p. output motors that you could receive in the car this particular model year. This engine is strong, stout and ready to run full throttle at the given command! Much more power than the pedestrian F-Code 302 & H-Code 351 models which where also optional this model year. This one provides just enough torque & sheer driving enjoyment! It is simultaneously dependable, extremely reliable & problem free. All of the factory watermarks and decals are still present under the hood. This antique also has excellent road manners and tracks much better than its pre 1971-1973 Mustang predecessors. The larger wheel base gives the car much better stability & superior handling. The {U Code} C/6 transmission shifts effortlessly. The car actually makes you look for an excuse to take it out of the garage. The factory white canvas power convertible top decorates the exterior nicely with a convertible top boot to match. Power steering; power disc brakes and power top make this car easy to operate. A free flowing chambered exhaust resides underneath which aids the car in belting out a nostalgic muscle car growl! Lastly this pony has spank brand new 15x8 inch magnum 500’s with new massive Firestone Firehawk performance radials! Crisp handling, great control & superb styling on tap all of the time. Garaged and covered {car cover included}. This one is not only EXTREMELY collectable … it is certain to sky rocket in value. Only a fraction of the convertibles produced in 1973 were 351 Q Code models! It has taken some time for them to start getting the recognition that they deserve, however they are finally starting to be appreciated. The historical documentation included with this cars sell is simply unmatched. I also have the actual canceled check which the vehicle was purchased with!!!
