TRIUMPH TR3B INTRODUCTION First I would like to tell you about myself. I started with eBay in Nov 1997 and for the next 12 years; I did business on eBay with 100% Feedback. I took pride in describing items to great detail, the good, the bad and in between, along with pictures and description, I would introduce items that were Unique Unusual, Fun, sometimes Rare and Hard to find. I enjoy sharing any history and telling any stories I have on the items. I took a leave of absense from eBay for awhile, and now I’m back. If you go to the Advance search on eBay, then Find items BY SELLER and type in (willow*creek)(without the 2) you will find my (2254 ) Feedback. THE STORY A Unique Story, But true none the less.... The Item is a Triumph TR3B, The Title reads 1963, Commission Number is TCF626 L / Body Number is TS1100… This car was purchased in North Dakota, it was running and drivable, but instead it was loaded and hauled back to Northern Minnesota. The owner of the car has a friend who is a Professional Mechanic; he suggested the car should be Restored back to its youth, with all its vigor and vitality. For starters the car was Completely Stripped down, the Body was Removed from the Frame, the Frame Sandblasted and Repainted. The Engine was Completely tore down and Rebuilt. All the Brakes, Calipers, Brakelines and Suspension were redone, Transmission checked out and the Engine Reinstalled and Body Replaced. The Wheels were Sandblasted and Painted and New Tires Mounted. The Triumph was ready to go to the body shop. When the owner of the car talked to the body shop, they were busy, the owner was not in a big hurry, it was winter. They told him they could work on the Triumph in between other jobs. Not a problem, the Triumph was dropped off. That was over 12 years ago….. Not quite a year ago, I stopped in at the body shop to look at a industrial sewing machine I heard they had for sale, while there, I discovered the Triumph just sitting in the back corner of the body shop and learned of its owner. The owner of the car and the Body shop owner were friends and neither pushed to get the car done or get it out. It was painted about a year and a half ago, and then went back to sitting. After meeting and talking to the owner he told me he had purchased a 1955 TR2 and had that to drive, (that has sicnce then been sold) and the TR3B was almost forgotten. My contacting the owner sparked interest in the TR3B, and we talked. The body shop still had to finish COLOR SANDING and BUFFING out the car, and PAINTING the inside of the trunk area, the drivers compartment floor, TOUCHING UP the engine compartment, and REASSEMBLING the car. But they would not have the time, for quite a while (maybe another 12 years :) And they could sure use the room, they decided to send the car home for now and they would call when they could fit it back in. They settled up and the owner took the car home as is...... Once home the owner decided he would just like to sell the car, not sure what to do, I suggested Ebay and told him I would be happy to handle the sale of the car. THE CAR 12VOLT POSITIVE GROUND SYSTEM (MY UNDERSTANDING IS THE BODY SHOP COULD NOT GET THE EXACT TRIUMPH COLOR SO THE COLOR CHOSEN WAS FERRARI RED ) TITLE READ (VIN TCF 626L) YEAR (63) (TYPE CV) THE TITLE WAS NEVER TRANSFERRED 12 YEARS AGO UNTIL OCTOBER 1 OF THIS YEAR, SO WE ARE JUST WAITING FOR IT TO GET HERE, WE WERE JUST TOLD IT SHOULD BE ANYTIME. TRIUMPH TR3B COMMISSION NUMBER #TCF626 L BODY # TSF/1160 ENGINE # TS 68036E IMPORTANT READ! WHILE RESEARHING AND GATHERING INFO TO LIST THE CAR I BELIEVE WHAT I LEARNED WAS THE ENGINE # IF IT IS THE LARGER 2138cc ENGINE THAT WAS SUPPOSE TO COME IN THE TCF TR3B SERIES CAR, THE ENGINE# SHOULD START WITH CT NOT TS LIKE THIS ONE DOES. TRANSMISSION # TS 68947 IMPORTANT READ! AGAIN WITH THE TRANSMISSION I BELIEVE IF THE TRANSMISSION IS SUPPOSE TO BE THE SYNCHRO GEARED TRANSMISSION THAT WAS SUPPOSE TO COME IN THE TCF TR3B SERIES CAR, THE NUMBER SHOULD BE ON TOP OF THE CLUTCH SHAFT BOSS. THIS IS ON THE LEFT SIDE BUT NOT ON TOP OF CLUTCH BOSS, LOOKING LIKE IT IS A TR3A TRANSMISSION, BUT I'M NOT SURE.. REAR AXEL # TS 48276 AND I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THAT AS FAR AS BEING ORIGINAL (If you look on the picture of the transmission it appears to have benn welded or something, again that is how it was when it was purchased) THE DRIVE TRAIN IS WHAT WAS IN THE CAR WEN HE PURCHASED IT.... PLEASE READ: The fact that I am not as knowledgeable on these vehicles, as i would like to be. we are leaving it to the bidders and final buyer to discern from the commission, body, engine, transmission and rear axle numbers i have supplied, AS TO what is original and what is not, and whether it matters to you the bidder to make your descision to purchase or not based on that. Please: ask questions...I will be happy to supply you with any info you may need.... THE TRIUMPH IS BEING SOLD AS IS, WHERE IS, NO WARRANTIES, NO GAURANTEES...NO RESERVE! THE ENGINE HAS NOT BEEN RUN SINCE IT WAS REBUILT 12 YEARS AGO, BUT IT HAS BEEN PERIODICALLY TURNED OVER BY HAND. PARTS: I HAVE MOST OF THE RECEIPTS FOR PARTS PURCHASED..
