Let me start by saying I purchased the car from an elderly gentleman who I have been acquainted with for many years. He owned the car since 1964 so I am able to give some history on the car. Unfortunately, his memory is failing so I wasn't able to get all the answers to the questions I had. The body was never taken off the frame, so it had a body-on restoration. The body had no rust whatsoever. The wood in the car is in as new condition (completely original). The doors close on this car as if it just came off the showroom floor. The rare optional trunk, as well as, all four fenders were new old stock when the car was restored. The car was done in lacquer paint many years ago, shortly after he purchased it & did the restoration. So as well as the paint presents itself in pictures and in person, it does show signs of age. There is some checking in the paint, as well as some expected chips. I am sure he had it painted a correct '33 Chevy color; however, I do not know the name of the color. The car has hand painted pinstripes which are in excellent condition & not worn through anywhere. This car has not been waxed, even to this day, for somewhere between 15-18 years....so you can only imagine how it would look with a great fresh waxing! The gentleman owned several cars and reached a point in his life when he just decided to park this '33 in nice dry storage and enjoy his other vehicles. When I purchased the car, of course, I had to change out the fluids, rebuild the fuel pump and put a new carb on it. I got the car running and it runs well - smooth & quiet. I have only driven it enough to say that everything works (gauges, lights, horns). The brakes, being mechanical, of course, work well other than being a little touchy - I feel the more they get used, the better they will work. The car needs a good exercising :) . The interior of the car is gorgeous top to bottom with no issues whatsoever. The garnish mouldings & dash have beautiful woodgrain. Everything inside is authentic - all the way down to the pull down shade. As for the chrome, it does show some age. The worst most noticeable would be the rear bumper. It has some small blistering. The wing vent window frames have bad chrome. The rest of the chrome is good to very good. The vinyl top is in great condition. All the glass is in great condition. All the windows roll up & down as they should. The undercarriage of the car is not rusty. It is just dirty and greasy (original). As for the options on the car - back in the day, when people restored these cars and appreciated them for what they are, optioning out your car to its fullest degree was always the goal. Here is the list of options on this car: dual external horns dual wheel well mounted spares wheel trim rings hubcap trim rings rare NOS trunk radio with key deluxe heater rearview mirror with clock dash clock (just because he had to have as many options as possible) bumper guards passenger side window visor (never installed because he was afraid to cut into the headliner) right side tailight spare tire mirrors with Chevrolet on them emergency brake chrome accessory handle shifter & emergency brake optional knobs (I cannot remember what they called these knobs) He did have the factory original spotlight but could not bring himself to cut into the body to mount it so it got sold. The fog lights on the car are old aftermarket & have never been hooked up. If the car is purchased through the buy-it-now, I will include with the sale a brand new rebuilt engine and many many spare parts. Most of the spare parts are NOS or new aftermarket. As for this extra engine itself, the gentleman had it rebuilt by his marina mechanic many years ago just to have a spare. He asked him when he was done to not paint it but he did anyhow which is why it is green in color. He kept the engine sealed up, filled with oil and constantly rotated it. As for what internal work was done, I do not know and he does does not remember. If somebody is that serious, I can easily pull the head off and take a peek. Of course, then it will require a new head gasket. If car is purchased via bidding & not the buy it now, the extra engine & parts will be sold separately at a later date. Here is the partial listing of the spare parts that I recall seeing without actually going through all the boxes: engine box of new pistons new valves new rings complete original gauge set with surround panel 2 new leaf springs beautiful pair of chrome trumpet horns beautiful complete set of headlights & staunchions new generator one wheel many new mechanical parts in GM boxes NOS muffler many carbs new hood door chrome knobs (6) mint extra locking hubcap handles many switches (electric & vaccum) 2 clutch disk many, if not all, engine gaskets NOS motor mounts and many many more parts! Non-Refundable Deposit via paypal of $500 due within 48 hours of listing ending. Balance due in cash at pick-up or cashiers check/money order with pick-up after it clears. Payment instructions to be discussed with winning bidder. If local, feel free to contact me to come see car prior to bidding. We reserve the right to end this listing early as it is listed locally. No warranty/guarantee on car - buyer buys as is. I have described accurately in detail to the best of my knowledge.
