Vehicle Detail
This is a true 1 of 1 car, a modified 1978 AMC Concord. A 92? wheelbase 2-seater AMC Concord. Factory V-8, rally pak, twin grip, HD suspension. 79-80 AMX flares. Intererior has Mustang GT bucket seats. The T5 5 speed manual transmission is out of a 1989 Mustang GT. The V8 401 was a rebuilt engine from an engine shop in Sacramento, no idea what it came out of or the extent of the rebuild. The builder of this car tells his story here http://pacertruck.wordpress.com/category/a-former-project/ I bought the car locally here with 1800 km on it and it now has 12,772 so roughly 8,000 miles have been put on it since it was built. The car runs amazing, does not burn oil or leak. The engine obvioulsy had a very good rebuild of the engine. The transmission shifts very nicely, the car rides great, handles very very good. The rear end gears I was told are like 2:73 or something real close to that. It has a ton of top end speed but is very quick off the line as well being a manual. The car has 16" wheels with 50 series tires on it. I am the third owner of the car acquiring it after sitting in the weather for some time. There is no rust on or in the car as it was well built and sealed but it does not look show condition like it once did. There is a small ding in the right front, scuffed up paint, the scoops have been removed and sanded down. The sun roof no longer seals so i have placed sealant vinyl over it to keep the wind noise down until I could get it fixed or have sheet metal welded back in. I am not selling this car because it has problems, this car is amazing and I wish i could save it. I do not have room any more to keep it out of the weather and I just dont want it to see the outdoors anymore. It has been kept in my garage every day that I have owned it and it is really a one of a kind collector car. I put in a black carpet kit about 6 months ago and it looks real nice. The tires are starting to crack some because they are 20 years old or so. I have all the trim peices I took off in preperation to paint it one day. I am really sacrificing at this price but I just do not have the space and time to give this car. I hope someone takes it and gets it back to where it was when Rob the builder finished it. The car has A/C that cycles and everything but there is a coolant leak cause it does not blow cold air. Everything else works perfectly. CLICK THE PICTURE TO SEE MORE PICS OF THE CAR 78 Concord
