Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 1998 Jaguar XJ8L that runs well and drives smoothly. As you might expect of a 1998 car, there are imperfections, but overall it's in good shape. Interior is smoke free and clean with the exception of a few small discolorations on the rear carpet. These are not extremely pronounced, but since they are there I should mention them. Car has a clean Carfax and was repainted at some point in the past. Thus, the paint is in better shape than for many of this year model except for a few tiny bumper scratches (see photos). The moonroof functions perfectly.The leather interior is very clean and has been routinely conditioned but has some scuffing on the front seats due to years of use. The CD changer in the trunk works fine, though I almost never use it. The stock speakers in the front and rear have been replaced, as I wanted something with a little more clarity. They were replaced in April of 2011. I have the original documentation that came with the car, along with the folder they came in. Those are the Jaguar Dealer Directory and Road Atlas, Drivers Handbook, and the Royal Charter Car book. Those come with the car, of course. Although the car runs great and I haven't had problems, there is almost always a, "battery not charging," light on. The battery is charging and it's never left me stranded, but for some reason, the light stays on.The rear view mirror is not in good condition. Jaguar made them with some sort of oil in the middle and these sometimes experienced failures. This one did, and I have included a photo to demonstrate what I'm talking about. The only key I have for it is the concierge key. The other drivers key went missing some time ago, along with the travel bag it was in at the time (stolen on a trip, to be more precise). A replacement driver's key from the dealer is about $100, but since the nearest dealer is not very near to me, and because the concierge key works fine, I didn't bother to replace it.The front two tires have quite a bit of wear and will need replacement. There are no doubt many Jaguar experts out there who know the fine details to a much greater extent than I do. However, if you have questions I will answer them to the best of my ability.
