The P1800 was a combination of Swedish and Italian design, high quality built in Sweden and known for their durability and character. For 1970/71 numerous changes came with the fuel-injected 1800E, which has the B20E engine with Bosch D-Jetronic Fuel Injection and a revised camshaft and produces 130 Hp (97 kW) from its 2-litre without sacrificing fuel economy. Top speed is around 190 km/h (just under 120 mph) and acceleration from 0–100 km/h (0-62.1 mph) is 9.5 seconds. In addition, the 1970 model is the first 1800 to appear with four-wheel disc brakes. Prior to this, the 1800 series had front discs and rear drums. This particular car has spent most of its entire life in dry California and Arizona desert conditions and therefore is exceptionally rust free! No welding repairs ever done and accident free. One repaint in its original Gold Metallic a few years ago, almost perfect with only very minor imperfections to be found. Long list of mechanical repairs and maintenance just done: Complete overhauled fuel system incl fuel tank, pump, sensors, hoses etc. Complete overhauled brake system incl calipers, rotors, pads, brake hoses etc. Suspension rebuilt incl bushings, shocks, tie rod ends, all ball joints etc , finished with a full alignment. Engine mounts replaced. Drive shaft rebuilt with new U-joints, center support bearing and rubber incl balancing. New tires and Panasport like wheels. Front and rear seats webbing replaced New front windshield with new rubber seal and chrome inserts Very strong and original engine, running smooth with no smoking, odd noises or leaks. Transmission in equally great conditions with good synchro’s and excellent working J-Type overdrive. These Volvo’s are becoming increasingly rare and can hardly be found in this rust free condition!
