Re-listing item because eBay stopped the pervious auction due to some type of scam or fraudulent activity. Apparently the pervious bidder who used the “buy it now” option was flagged by eBay for reasons no fault of our own and unspecified to us. So here we go again. 1938 Two Door Chevy Sedan all steel body fitted on a sectioned, shortened and lowered 1989 two (2) wheel drive S-10 frame. An S-10 frame conversion is the most recent and a common trend among some contemporary Street Rod builders nowadays. If you do an “S-10 frame” Goggle search on the Internet you could spend a few days reading all the information available about what some Street Rod builders have been doing with these frames. This project has progressed with the body being sized up and test fitted on and off the frame a few times already. As a result, the original S-10 motor mount location was moved back for better weight distribution and to fit the body better. The frame was entirely wire wheeled, cleaned; and painted black before the frame and body were most recently mocked up together. The frame also has new front coil springs, drop spindles, shocks, brake pads, rotors, calipers, wheel bearings and seals. The rear is dropped and it is a stock S-10 - ten (10) bolt with new leaf springs, shocks, drums and seals. Moving forward the inter rear wheel wells will need to be moved inward (tubbed) towards the passenger compartment slightly a few inches because the 38 body is currently too wide to fit the S-10 rear... The body it temporarily bolted to the frame on 1 inch spacers. If the spacers are removed it will lower the body and the transmission tunnel will need to be altered slightly. With the spacers removed it gives the appearance the body is channeled. The power plant is a late model (mid 90's) Chevy Performance small block 350 crate engine that has an aluminum Edelbrock Performer Intake manifold, new Headman Headers and HEI Distributor. Also, put together with the engine is an East Coast Auto Electric High Torq Starter and an East Coast Auto Electric Super Mini 120 Amp Alternator. The engine came out of a wrecked truck and it has less than thirty five thousand (35,000) miles on it. The transmission is an overdrive TH2004r. The trans. might not seem like a good choice but if you do an internet search you’ll find a lot of good information about these transmissions… The trans. in my opinion, is a better choice because with some minor tweaking it can take a lot more horsepower than a more common 700r4. The TH2004r is the same transmission used in Buick Grand Nationals and they perform well in cars that are running high amounts of turbo boost and making monster horsepower. The car is titled as a 1938 Chevrolet Sedan. There is new tinted glass in the car front, back and both sides. Tilt wheel steering column, master cylinder and instrument panel from a 1981 Chevy Caprice. There is no grill or running boards with the body but there are two (2) sets of steel back fenders and one (1) set of steel front fenders. A 16 gallon fuel cell for a gas tank is also included. The body is straight and it is pretty much complete as pictured but in need of rust repairs. The good news is there are fitted patch panels and fiberglass replacement parts available for the body from a few different suppliers. The body and frame together is being sold as is, where is with no warranty expressed or implied. The car is a roller but currently not drivable. The driveshaft has been removed and there are no brake lines. The car will have to be picked up on a flatbed or trailer. We can help load and possibly assist with our trailer for local (less then 75 miles) delivery if needed. Otherwise, shipping charges are the sole responsibility of the buyer. This is not a Ford tuff with Chevy stuff project it's ALL CHEVY. This is a good head start on a winter project and without too much effort you could have things roll-in for any up coming cool spring night cruise. The project is for sale because I was renting a garage but the property was sold and the new owner is a buttock and I lost my lease. The car is currently sitting outside covered with a tarp. I have nowhere to work on it under roof over the winter and I hate to see it left sitting outside. See full terms of sale in shipping and payment details of this auction.
