1974 Volkswagen Beetle / Bug with Rag Top Up for sale is a pretty solid Classic Bug that I bought a little over a year ago to restore but I woke up and realized I just don't have the time for it and it's time to get it out of the driveway with my oldest about to get her license. The interior is custom and near perfect as the pictures will show. I bought it figuring a good strip down to metal, repair of the couple of rust spots and some new paint and it would be a fun car to play around with. I had some fun with it since I bought it but the time to do the body work never came about. It all depends on what you want to do with the car. It looks ok now but does have some rust spots and is by no means in show condition. You can drive it and have fun as I did or you can put some time into the body and have a really nice classic beetle. The parts are cheap for these cars as you will find and they are becoming true collectors since as you know you do not see many on the road anymore. You almost never see one with factory rag top which makes this vehicle very desirable. I can not be anymore honest than to tell you the car is not perfect, it does have some gauges in it that were installed by the previous owner that do not work, the spedometer works but the odometer does not so I am unsure of true mileage, the engine runs good but the carb needs adjusting as at times it will bog when you step on the gas and other times it will idle rough. I was told by the previous owner the engine was rebuilt the Summer prior to me buying it. I have no proof this is true but I had it to the mechanic for new rear brakes and wheel cylinders and he told me the engine sounded and ran strong. I spent almost double my opening bid under two years ago for this car because the underbody, interior and engine were good and it wouldn't take much to make it a beauty. I am selling this car as is!!!!! I am not asking a fortune and I don't want to hear any complaints about the body or anything not working because I have told it like it is!!! The car is driveable, fun, has a great interior and solid underbody and is a driver not a show car. The time and effort by you that I did not have can make it go to the next level. The car is located in Bergen County New Jersey and buyer is reponsible for picking up or shipping the car within 7 days of auctions end. I require a $500.00 deposit within 24 hours of auction end and remainder can be paid at pick up in cash or certified check or by Pay Pal. The title is clean, in my name and in my possesion. The car is not perfect it is a driver!!!!!
