Vehicle Detail
For auction is this 1975 Honda XL250 project bike. I got the bike running long enough to ride it around through all the gears. The motor sounded good. It shifts through all the gears, but it has been sitting for a while and it shifts stiff - posibly the return spring needs to be replaced. But,,, it is a project bike. There is no key for the bike - some one cut the wires on the ignition switch instead of unplugging them --- back to the project theme. The gas tank is scratched and has small dents - there is a big 'patch' on the back of the tank ( it must have leaked and some one globbed something on the back to stop it ). The inside of the tank is corroded. The bike has nice looking DID rims front and rear. The rear Cheng Shin knobbie is in good condition - the front tire is weathered. Both the front and rear fenders are in good condition. The head light glass is missing The switches on the both sides of the handle bars look to be in good shape. The rear shocks are weak. Fairly good spring action in the front forks. The exhaust is complete and intact - no rust holes. All 4 turn signals are on the bike. The tail light lens is cracked. The left side of the engine is missing the sprocket cover. There are no cracks or breaks in the cases. All the fins on the cylinder and head look good. Sold as-is. Buyer is responsible for the cost and arranging of shipping. Either pick the bike up yourself, or arrange to have it hauled. We have used Erv in the past - he does a good job for a reasonable cost. For a shipping quote from Erv, call 972-658-6958. Please make your shipping arrangement before the end of the auction - I will store the bike for a couple of weeks at the most. I will accept Paypal or cash, if picking up in person. A $100 non-refundable deposit is required through Paypal within 48 hours of the end of the auction. Payment in full must be received within 3 days of the end of the auction. Thanks for the interest!
