When I was searching for a CJ years ago, I saw the ads of all those Dads who were parting with their Jeeps and I swore I wouldn't be "that guy". Well, I'm now "that guy" and regrettably for me I must move along my beloved CJ to someone who can take care of it and enjoy it as much as I have. I bought it about 5 years ago on E-Bay. It looked good from afar but when delivered it needed some TLC mechanically. I had a local shop (LBR in Bellevue) go through and get it all up to snuff - most stuff was related to just being dried up and dried out. Replacing brakes, master cylinder, hoses, gas tank, carburetor got this Jeep running in a way that matched it's beauty and it's been solid, reliable and a joy ever since. It's not cherry by any means, but it's still eye popping. It's the trimmings and such, like dash panel and controls, door trim, shifter knobs and boots, door locks, etc. that need replacement to really spiff it up. The paint and chrome and wheels and seats bling well enough that people love the look of this CJ and it's classic appeal. It starts right up and runs like a champ. It occasionally blows out some oil burn at startup but then runs clean. It always passes emissions and runs strong in town and the highway. It has a hardtop and hard doors - no soft top or other door options. I love this Jeep and I'm not going to give it away but for a serious buyer at the right price I'll let it go.
