Vehicle Detail
FS: 1999 BMW M3 Coupe - Fern Green - 86k miles Please NOTE: This vehicle is listed by eBay as a salvage title due to the autocheck report that they automatically run. It is fair to say that this vehicle has salvage history, though it does NOT have a salvage title. I have the title in my possession, and it is completely clean and does not have any salvage branding whatsoever. The damage was really quite minor, and shouldn't have been salvage by most definitions in the first place given that it never met the 75% damage threshold. I am including photos of the damage below so that buyer can rest assured that it was indeed minor. Hi all, Up for sale is a 1999 BMW M3 Coupe with only 86k miles. It is the last year of the E36 generation, much lighter than the current models. It's a fantastic machine, extremely capable handling. In fact, it was named the Best Handling car in the world, at any price, in 1998 by Car and Driver. This is a very nice example, much nicer than 90% of what you'll find out there. The Fern Green is a rare color, issued to 99 models only for this generation. Combine that with the desireable coupe body style, and the ultra rare Magma interior (Magma is a buffalo leather, appearance is marbled and uses black for two-tone effect). While BMW doesn't release production data by color, it's likely that there are less than a few dozen ever made, and probably rarer than that. Now that these cars are aging, nice examples are even more rare indeed. It's possible you will never see another M3 in this color combination and condition again. It gets better though, much better actually. This car is loaded with options, it has heated, power seats, ***HI-FI*** harmon kardon stereo system (w/ CD Changer and Business model cassette/head unit), and the full 18 button OBC Trip computer. It has cruise control (many don't), and the standard M3 appearance options (twistie side skirts, ///M Mirrors, tri-spoke steering wheel, ///M Badging, 17" Contour Wheels. And of course, being an M3, you get the 3.2L I6 Engine - with plenty of power - and world-class suspension and brakes. And of couse it has the basics that they all have, like sunroof, power windows/mirrors/steering/etc. Not enough? How about the fact it's still complete? It has the spare, jack, lug wrench, all the toolkit tools, original owner's manual, case, etc...even a BMW M3 Owner's Audio Cassette tape. It has the driver door pocket insert as well, most of these are long gone. Better still, this car has documented service history. Recently, it has received 4 new tires (@72k miles), and complete rear suspension overhaul (@76k miles), as well as a new drive belt (@80k miles). It also has some rear body/paint work recently. When I bought the car, it had light rear end damage. The trunk lid, right taillight, and rear bumper were replaced. All paintwork was done properly, and appropriate blending was performed. It looks amazing, and all paint matches perfectly in all lighting situations. Any other paintwork that needed attention was address as well, including repainting the grill and front bumper due to some rock chips. It was $1200 for paint and labor, the parts cost $575 more. The title when I bought it was a Maryland "salvage less than 75%). Here are links to the original accident photos, as you can see this was a minor incident: After it was fixed and I applied for title, I received a South Carolina Clean title with no liens or branding. Again, it is not marked Salvage or Rebuilt in any way. I selected the Salvage category with eBay per eBay policy guidelines, but the title is completely CLEAN. It is in my name as well. I would love to keep the car, and may end up doing so. However, I'm a full time doctoral student - as well a single dad with 2 kids. The car is paid off, and I could use the money for other needs if I can get a fair price. I've had lots of E36's over the years, and frankly, many of them today are junk. If you've been out looking, you know what I'm talking about. This one is different. It has been taken care of, and it shows. The only wear is some minor scuffs on the entry bolsters. The seats are not hard, brittle or cracking. The door panels secure tightly to the doors. The LED's work in all the displays. Cassette and CD Changer - working. Power seats - working. All plastics are in excellent shape - not cracked/scratched. Wheels, no major wear or damage. There are no service lights illuminated on the dash, and it's been left in stock condition. The only exception to this is the HID Glass Housing Headlights and foglights. I plan on returning these to the stock configuration for the sale, as I have another E36 I'm going to put them into. The end result is a car that is in exceptional condition for it's age, ready for a new owner that can appreciate a well-maintained example. For a 99 M in this condition and with nice low miles, most buyers will ask $15-16k. Frankly, it's worth that in my opinion. You simply won't find another one for sale like it for this price, and you may not be able to find another one regardless of price. However, I'm offering this at an even better price in hopes of a quick sale. It runs and drives perfectly, and can be test driven by serious buyers. Please don't waste my time if you don't want to purchase a car - my time is valuable. If you do want to purchase, and have done your homework enough to realize this is a killer deal, come drive it so you can be convinced. I've sold dozens of cars on eBay in the past, and will assist the buyer in any way that I can. I can help locate a shipper if you'd like to have it shipped. Typically this costs $400-1000, depending on where you are in the country. Alternatively, you can fly in and drive it home. I'm located in Atlanta, GA - so come see our wonderful city while you're here! A non-refundable deposit is required within 48 hours of the sale for $500. Balance is due within 10 days, and must be paid in cash or with a bank check drawn on a bank that has a branch in the Atlanta area (there are many counterfeit checks out there; I must be able to cash the check before releasing the car or title). I would like any potential buyers to feel confident in their decision to purchase this vehicle. As such, I am more than happy to meet anyone so that they can check the vehicle out. I'm also happy to assist in making the car available for any pre-purchase inspections that a prospective buyer would like to complete. The cost of these inspections will be the responsibility of the buyer alone. I'm very confident in the vehicle's condition, though such inspections will certainly ease a potential buyers mind, especially if said buyer cannot see the vehicle before purchasing. Please note, inspections should be scheduled and performed BEFORE bidding if they are important to you.
