Vehicle Detail
18 years ago (I was in high school) I started to collect Willys Wagons. I rebuilt the Red one and drove it in high school. I then entered the military and have never had the time to do anything with them since. They have just been sitting on my father's ranch in AZ in storage out of doors under tarps. A few years ago, a tree fell on the red and rust colored Wagons and all of the wind was taken out of my sails to fix them up to running condition. So they are all for sale;. It is time for these to go to someone else who has the time and desire to complete them. 1953 (Red one) Have title & keys, and it is 4x4 w/ some weird locking front hubs. Ran when parked in 2005. Has a Chevy 283 with dual exhaust, new 2 barrel carb, and most of the electrics rebuilt in the mid '90s. Power goes through the 3 speed manual Borg/Warner T-90 Dana 18 (with Warn/SATURN Over Drive--no shift lever so you must crawl underneath to change it into and out of overdrive, I couldn't bring myself to cut the sheet metal) to stock axles with long forgotten ratios. A large tree fell on it in 2006, smashed the roof up, busted the left rear window; none of this damage will be easily repairable. Please look at my other auctions to see a complete '58 that could be used for parts to repair the roof. This has been an AZ car for it's entire life, so there is only rust inside the tailgate hinge that catches the water and snow melt. When the previous owner installed the 283, he cut out the front frame cross member to fit the engine. I have a new OEM frame available for this wagon if you want to restore it to stock. This is a beautiful wagon, it even has the original spare (currently the right rear tire for transportation). This vehicle steers, rolls and is sold as is, where it is. Thank you for your time and consideration.
