This 1970 Chevelle is Cranberry Red and combines classic looks with a long list of modern suspension and drive-line components that make it handle and perform like a more contemporary car. HISTORY: Purchased 25 years ago and underwent an extensive restoration 20 years ago, then stored. Has been driven less than 10,000 miles since restoration. The car was pulled out of dry, indoor storage this past summer for detailing and lots of driving....about 800 miles in the past 3 months alone have proven the car to be completely dependable, and "driver fatigue-free". GENERAL BUILD: Originally a Malibu, the car has ALL the SS trim and detail parts. INTERIOR: Factory bucket seats restored with original covers and assembly parts. SS instrument panel with tachometer and clock. Center console with 4 speed "hoarse-shoe" style shifter and 4 position selector plate. Tilt steering column. All new seat belts front and rear. ENGINE: 360 cid Small Block Chevrolet. Lingenfelter supplied long-block kit "pan to carburetor". Professionally assembled and very strong. 4 bolt mains with steel crank. Comp Cams 280 with active variable lift/duration Rhoedes lifters. Lots of simple tweeks make this engine sing while you enjoy the G forces into your seat. TRANSMISSION: Art Carr TH200 4R 4 Speed Automatic w/ 10" torque converter. Additional trans cooler. Additional spin-on external fluid filter. COOLING SYSTEM: Ultra heavy duty radiator with Flex-A-Lite 298 Dual electric fans. ELECTRICAL: Updated to an "internal regulator" alternator. ALL wireing harnesses replaced with all connections treated with Bullfrog corrosion preventer. Tweeked Mallory HEI distributor. High power Optima battery relocated in the trunk. FRONT SUSPENSION: Global West upper and lower control arms with springs and all polyurethane bushings. These control arms have improved travel geometries resembleing a Trans Am. Giant sway bars. Trans Am front disc brakes. REAR AXLE: 3:08 Positraction 12 bolt rear axle from a '71 Buick Skylark with over-sized drum brakes. EXHAUST: Headers wrapped in heat-tape with custom built stainless steel dual exhaust with "H" pipe. PAINT: DuPont 2 component polyurethane.
