Vehicle Detail

Offered today is a pretty rare, real deal, 1960's era hot rod 1937 Ford coupe. I'll do my best to describe it, however I have taken 92 photos showing pretty much every inch of it. E-Bay won't allow me to link you to the photo album, so if you're interested, please send me your e-mail address and I will gladly send you the link. I value my E-Bay feedback and want to be as up front as possible with everything about this coupe. I figured a ton of photos would be the best way to do this! If you're into traditional hot rods, original patina, and survivor cars, this one might be for you. This coupe has been in Northern California for at least 40 years and possibly much longer. From what we can gather, it looks like someone took a very solid 37 coupe, hot rodded it sometime in the 1960's, drove it until at least the early 70's (see the old NHRA Winter Nationals 1972 decal on the bumper), then let it sit. Back in the day it looks like it might of ran a Chevy engine. The prior owner had all the garnish moldings chromed, used 49-50 Ford shoebox tail lights and a 40 Ford deluxe steering wheel. Even the interior was custom. This coupe just has "the look". I'll list out the details of the coupe. The photos should tell the whole story though. It is currently licensed, registered and ready to hit the road. The California title is clear and we have it in hand. For bidders in California, the registration is paid up until July 2012 and the coupe is licensed with it's original 1960's era black plates. ENGINE: This coupe now runs a rebuilt 8BA (1949-1953) flathead with dual 97 Strombergs on a Offenhauser 2 pot intake. Engine has been converted to 12v and runs an alternator. TRANSMISSION: 1939 Ford. REAR END: The rear end is original to the car. Banjo type 3.78 gears. SUSPENSION ~ BRAKES: A true 4 inch dropped axle. Brakes are hydraulic '40 Ford. New dual exhaust. WHEELS ~ TIRES: 16 inch 1940 Ford "solids" with beauty rings. Firestone 600 x 16's are mounted up front, and 750 x16's are mounted at the rear. The tires are almost brand new. INTERIOR: The seat is an original 1937 that has been recently re-upholstered. All garnish moldings were chromed back in the 60s. Original 1940 Deluxe steering wheel. Cool 1937 Ford radio (missing knobs). No headliner. The door panels are from the 1960s and are in pretty good shape. The windows roll up and down just fine. The cowl vent and front windshield both open and close. MISCELLANEOUS: Matching hood sides come with the coupe. Optima red top battery. THE BAD: There is rust is tool tray area, rear fender and lesser type rust on running boards. This is shown in the photos. There is no headliner, however all the bows are present. The rubber seals for the trunk and windows are rotted. I have bought the rubber for the trunk and side windows. They will be included with the sale. The rubber that goes around the front and rear bumpers are shot also. I bought 4 new rubber pieces and they will be included with the sale. The drivers/passenger windows are cracked. We just drove it with them down, but they should be replaced. All in all, this is a VERY solid California car. It needs a little finishing, probably a good buff on the paint would do wonders, but a guy (or gal) could literally just drive it as is. Please feel free to ask ANY questions. We welcome potential buyers to e-mail or look at car in person any time day or evening. Also feel free to pass on your number if you want to talk. All sales are final with no warranties or guarantees implied. There will be no exchanges or refunds, and potential buyers must ask all questions prior to bidding and/or buying. NO "tire kickers" please!
