Vehicle Detail
I love this car and that's why I must sell it :( I bought this beautiful Benz 11 months ago but I've relocated to NYC where public transportation is king. I have nowhere to store it and I don't want it to get rusty sitting at my parents house in Fl. Plus I can't lie, I could use the money-- NYC landlords want two months rent plus another month for security! More photos: http://s1188.photobucket.com/albums/z406/mb240d1980/ It runs and shifts great. A/C was perfect when I got it but now it just runs cool air instead of really cold air. Heat works great. I recently changed the glow plugs and fuel filters. The vacuum works well, locks work great, starts up really easy (right after the plug light goes out) and when it's hot out you can start it before the plugs fully warm! The paint is original and has some blemishes and discoloration and the interior is great (no cracking on the dash, left back seat is missing some cushioning). Back right passenger door gets stuck occasionally but it seems like an easy fix. Cruise control works but slowly drifts down. Just have to reset it every once in a while. All original manuals included. It's an automatic with power locks, programmable radio, no sun roof, and it doesn't have power windows. 57890 original miles owned by an older woman who kept it garaged, then bought by a Benz mechanic who worked for her local dealership, and then kept by an airplane mechanic, before I came along! With these cars it's easy to push them too hard if you're used to modern vehicles that have more than 4 cylinders and 67hp, especially since these have slow acceleration, but I've always driven it with respect, never pushing the engine or the transmission, always just cruisssssing. For the time I owned this car, I was working from home, so I only drove it leisurely and not even every day. It's always been kept garaged or covered and I've never let anyone smoke in it. Mileage is awesome, a full tank is like an energizer bunny, and these cars last forever! There are numerous 240Ds that easily push 500k miles and I've even heard of one reaching 900k. Amazing. You can also use BioDiesel and if you wanted it can be converted to waste veggie oil (SVO or WVO)! Drive for pennies! It's not a perfect car but I think it's a great car and I'm sorry to let her go. I get compliments every day in this car, the caramel brown color, the chrome trim, the matching color hubcaps, it's simply beautiful! This is a once in a lifetime rare deal, finding a classic car like this in such good condition with such low mileage! If you want it shipped, you'll have to figure out all those arrangements.
