Vehicle Detail

Excellent example of the standard first generation Mustang Convertible with <16000 miles on the drivetrain. I am the third owner, Body and paint was restored by C & R Body Shop in Rexburg, Idaho in 1996. The paint is holding up well with just a few minor cracks appearing at the corners. These are easily repaired. A new Ford 351-C longblock (.030 Cylinder bore) was installed by Reynolds Motor Machine in St. George, Utah in 2007. The previous owner declined repair on the Original three speed transmission and had a 5 speed transmission installed by High Desert Performance of Page, Arizona in 2007. There have been numerous new hardware parts (door handles, bumpers, aerial, convertible top and gaskets, interior kit and gauges installed over the last few years) for which I have all the receipts displayed in a book. This car starts right up, drives nice and turns heads wherever it goes. This past summer it was driven from Ogden, Utah to San Francisco; down the coast highway to San Diego; to Las Vegas and back to Ogden. Well mannered, reliable and gas mileage better than the average suv (20.8 mpg overall for this trip). The car is garaged kept and taken out only when rain is not in the forecast. It has been an arizona car most of its life and there is only slight surface rust under the hood. Tires are good and mounted on the 500 Steel Wheels. The car has power drum brakes and while it did have AC at one time, it was never put back on during the restoration. It has a genuine dual exhaust that sounds great and probably adds more horsepower to the wheels; this car is fast. Bottom line is that this car is unique and a classic example of the last of the true muscle cars before emissions hobbled the herd of pony cars. The 50th anniversary of Mustang is 26 months away and you could join the parade down Woodward Ave in style and pride at owning a peice of American automotive history. On Oct-19-11 at 20:08:20 PDT, seller added the following information: Remarkable example of the standard first generation Mustang Convertible with <16000 miles on the drivetrain. Well mannered, reliable and gas mileage better than the average suv (20.8 mpg overall for this trip). The car is garaged kept and taken out only when rain is not in the forecast (As mush as I would like to, it has never been to the Utah Auto Show's Mustang display in January. Snow, ice and crazy Utah drivers don't mix). It has been an Arizona car most of its life and the dry climate has been good to this Mustang. There is only slight surface rust under the hood (on firewall and engine bay joints). All the glass in the car is excellent and only one round window knob on the rear drivers side is missing. Tires are good and mounted on the 500 Steel Wheels. The car has power drum brakes and while it did have AC at one time, it was never put back on during the restoration. It has a genuine dual exhaust that sounds great and probably drives more horsepower to the wheels. Like the license plate says, "Wild Things Run Fast!" Bottom line is that this car is a unique classic example of the last of the true muscle cars before emissions hobbled the herd of ponys. The 50th anniversary of Mustang is 26 months away and you could join the parade down Woodward Ave in style and pride at owning a peice of American automotive history. More pictures are available by email and if you need a specific detail please let me know. If you have a mechanic in the Salt Lake area (preferably Ogden) that you would like to have inspect the car, let me know and I'll make arrangements (I won't however, pay for this inspection).
