Vehicle Detail

1968 Mustang Fastback J-Code HISTORY: Here is a barn fresh 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback J-Code with 77,549 miles. It's a numbers matching car with mostly original paint. It runs and rolls but does not drive. (no brakes) The car is an excellent candidate for restoration. The car is priced to sell as I have set a very low reserve price well below market value. The codes are as follows... VIN: 8T02J195622 BODY: 63A (2+2 Fastback) COLOR: W5 (Meadowlark Yellow with Flat Black Hood) TRIM: 2FA (Saddle Crinkle Vinyl and Saddle Kiwi Vinyl) DATE: 10D (April 10, 1968) DSO: 38 (Pittsburgh) AXLE: E (3.00 Limited-Slip) TRANS: W (C4 Automatic) DRIVETRAIN: It has it's original optional J-Code 302 4-barrel engine with the original carburetor and it does run. We had it running last week. The C4 automatic transmission is the 3-speed Select Shift Cruise-O-Matic and the rear axle is the standard 3.00 ratio. INTERIOR: The original saddle interior is mostly complete with a lot of good pieces. While the front seats need recovered they are in good condition and not blown out. The rear seats are in good shape. Door panels and rear side panels are complete. The headliner and sunvisors look good. Dash pad is cracked on top but not warped and the instrument cluster gauges look nice. TRIM: The glass in this car is really good and all the trim around the windows is surprisingly nice. Hood turn signals are complete. The rear taillights are reverse lights are in decent shape. Quarter louvers are good and the gas cap is nice. The rear bumper is fair and the front bumper is not correct for the car. BODY: This car still wears 80% of it's original paint. The fenders and hood appear to be good pieces. The passenger door is also good but the drivers door has a large rust hole. Both quarter panels are original and need replaced. The trunk lid might be save-able and the rear tail panel looks good. Roof is excellent. UNDERCARRIAGE: The rear floor pans are good. The front floor pans need replaced. The rear inner frame looks good, but will need front outer frame work and torque boxes. The strut towers and suspension attach points look good. I don't believe it would be fair to reveal the reserve to a select few, because that would give them an unfair advantage over other bidders. The reserve will not be revealed, but I can tell you that the current bid is close to the low reserve price. I also received offers to buy the car outside the auction. This car is being sold via auction and I would like to keep it a true auction to be fair to everyone. Thanks.
