Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1958 Giulietta 750 D Spider Normale. Vin # AR1495 03930. Engine number: 1315 43426. Originally color is Red. The 750 short wheel base Spider's are the most sought after of the series besides the Veloce models, which makes this a wonderful opportunity for the Alfisti that is looking for his next project. With Giulia and Giulietta prices climbing, this Spider represents an excellent foundation for a complete straightforward restoration. I had planned on doing the restoration, however at this point I have too many other Alfa projects that will be keeping me busy for quite a long time. The Alfa comes with a clear Illinois Title. I will be adding some additional pictures within the next day or so. According to Alfa Rome archives: with reference to your request we are informing you as follows. According to our documentation files, the chassis number AR 1495.03930 originally corresponds to an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider, manufactured on the 8th April 1958 and sold on the 11th April 1958 to Hoffman Motor Car Co., New York, USA. The body colour is red. Yours, Sincerely, Marco Fazio The Giulietta has been in dry storage for at least the last 25 years. The body had been sandblasted down to bare metal and then it had a protective primer applied. It has been in the same condition for since being put in storage. When I acquired the Alfa, some of the original primer was wearing thin, so in order to protect the body, I sanded off some of the protective primer and applied a new coat of primer. There are some spots on the body where there was some light body work done. I was under the impression that it was bondo, but was very suprised to see that these areas were filled with lead. With that said, the entire body is all metal with no filler at all. There is no evidence of body damage that I can determine. The panel fit is excellent - doors, hood and trunk gaps look good. The floors are solid and as the pictures show have been repaired previously. The dashboard is in good condition with the original factory radio cut out. The floor pan is solid as shown in the pictures as well as the rocker panels and wheel arches. Inner rockers look solid. The nose panel is in good shape as well. The Alfa comes with the correct 1315 series engine block. Engine number is: 1315 43426. Included is 4 1300 Veloce Pistons and con rods. Crank shaft & front pulley. 1300 Cylinder head. 2 Split cases transmissions - (tunnel was modifed for split case). The following parts are included in the sale: Headlight Assy. (L&R). Tail light Assy. (L&R). Convertible Top Frame (needs some work). Gauges. Partial wire harness. The doors are complete with both windows and and window winders and door release mechanisms. As shown both exterior door handles are present and in good condition. Windshield is in good shape with no cracks. Windshield chrome pillars are in good shape as well. Key items that I do not have: Seats, gas tank, driveshaft & bumpers. Misc. engine ancillary parts. As stated, this Giulietta Spider would make an easy straight forward restoration for even the amateur restorer. If you used to build models as a kid, then this would make the ulitmate 1:1 scale model! That was my plan - send it to the body shop for a high end paint job, and then build the car from the painted shell. As mentioned, the panel fit is very good, so the work should be pretty straight forward. Parts are easy to find, and this would be quite the rewarding project. I have done my best to describe the Alfa to the best of my ability. I may have missed some details, so please ask anything that I have not addressed. The Giulietta comes with a clear title and also the key for the ignition. The fine print: If you have 0 feedback or more than 2 negative feedback ratings, you must contact me prior to bidding. A non refundable deposit of $500.00 is due within 24 hours of the auction end date, preferably by Paypal. You must contact me within 24 hours of the end of the auction to discuss the details of the sale. The balance is due within 7 days of the auction end date. The Alfa must be picked up with 10 days of the auction end date. A $10.00 per day storage fee will be charged after the 10 day period unless prior arrangements have been made. I have sold several vintage cars to overseas buyers with the buyers being extremely pleased with the sale. My 100% feedback speaks for itself, so you can bid with confidence. Looking for a great home for my Giulietta Spider. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me, I will do my best to answer any questions that you may have. I will consider ending the auction early for the motivated buyer that would like to make a serious offer. I do reserve the right to end the auction early.
