1966 CHEVROLET NOVA / CHEVY II , 2 DOOR HARDTOP , NO MOTOR OR TRANS * ORIGINAL V-8 , 4 SPEED , 12 BOLT 3:73 POSI * L-79 ? MAYBE ? I bought this car , because it has a factory 12 bolt rear. I had planned on selling the rear and car separate. After some decoding and investigating , I realized this car may be more than meets the eye. I will give the facts and let you decide what it is worth. NO RESERVE. - trim tag decodes : 05D = May , 4th week ----- B = blue interior sheetmetal 6611637 = 1966 Chevy II , V-8 , 2 door coupe ------ NOR = Norwood Ohio Plant 735A = Standard Blue Interior ------ EE = Danube Blue Exterior 2L = 4 speed transmission - Code on passenger side axle tube : FP0516GE FP = 3:73 posi , 0516 = May 16th , G = Detroit Gear Plant , E = Eaton positraction differential ****** All of this information is from WWW.NOVARESOURCE.COM ***************** This car is a ROLLER. There is no motor or trans. The 12 bolt rear is still in the car. I have not removed the cover to determine if the internals are original. Car appears to have been a track car most of its life. Last inspection is from October 1975. I want to be very clear on the condition of this car. No motor , no trans , no wiring , no rear glass , missing most exterior stainless and trim , no rear seat , heater box has been removed . Interior has a very old , 10 point ? rollcage. Clutch and brake pedals are still there , as well as the Z bar. Floor shift steering column is there. There is also a factory radio delete plate. It has a bucket seat from an Impala? . The floor has been cut on the trans tunnel and there are a few holes in the back seat area and where the cage was welded in. The rockers are very solid . Trunk is solid . Rear inner wheel wells are very solid and have not been cut. Shock towers and cowl have surface rust , but no visible holes. Front inner wheel wells have been cut for fenderwell headers. No front bumper . Tow tabs welded to front bumper mounts. No hood hinges. Hood has damage from a tree branch. The pictures make the exterior and paint look better than it really is. It has some rough body work and a Maacco paint job. I tried to show it in the pictures. The passenger side 1/4 panel is especially wavy. There are some rough sand marks under the paint in a few places. I don't think much time was spent on body work and prep. I am guessing they just wanted to put a color on it and build it for the track . I would suggest seeing the car in person. It is a major project , but is it worth saving? I think so. How many 1966 Nova non Super Sport hardtops were built with a V8 , 4 speed , 12 bolt 3:73 posi and radio delete? Dare I say " L-79 ". Why order the right trans and rear and not the "right" engine. I am sure I forgot to list some items that are missing , so please email all questions before bidding. I can assist in local delivery , but please tell me know your location first. Do not assume "local" means North Dakota. If any of my decoding is inaccurate , please let me know. I will post any helpful information. Vehicle is available for inspection and will be sold as/is. ****** IMPORTANT**** I have a clear Pennsylvania Title in my name , but it was sent back stating model year as 1967. If this is a problem please let me know before bidding. It can be sent back and changed , but may take a couple weeks.
