This E-type seeks a proper a loving home, it is extremely solid and a proper driving example. I have started the auction at $1,000.00 and have installed a low reserve. Happy Bidding! 1963 JAGUAR E-TYPE SERIES 1 3.8 LITER ROADSTER --Opalescent Blue with Biscuit leather interior and Black convertible top, 3.8 Liter, 4-speed manual, Restored, 8,000 miles ago, early 2000's. The "E" type 3.8 was the first "E" type, announced in March 1961. It came in OTS (Open Two Seater) and FHC (Fixed Head Coupe) versions. Introduced at the Geneva car show in March 1961, it was a sensation. It inherited the triple-carburetor 3.8 liter XK engine from the XK150, but its sleek body made it capable of nearly 150 MPH. It has disc brakes all-round, and is fitted with IRS (Independent Rear Suspension) to give it the road holding to match its performance. The 3.8 is now considered the most 'pure' of the "E" type breed and more of a sports car as compared to the later series "E" type models. This Series 1 E-Type that we have the pleasure of offering is a great example of the desirable 3.8 liter cars. Restored in the mid 90s, it has been well known to Autosport Designs Inc. It was sold by us to its current owner in 1999 and used 7,000 miles since. It has been service when and where needed by Autosport Designs, Inc. to date. This E-type Roadster runs and drives as well as it looks and has the added benefit of having its Jaguar Heritage Certificate.
