Finished in gleaming "chamonix" white over navy blue interior, this 99.99% rust-free example sports the 2.8 liter inline six cylinder engine mated to a 4 speed manual transmission. It has the factory electric sunroof that both slides and tilts, COLD AIR CONDITIONING, electric windows, working am/fm stereo, telescoping steering wheel and original 14" turbine alloy wheels with very good rubber. There are some expected small rock nicks on the nose area, a few minor blemishes on the body including a tiny, practically imperceptible dent on the left front corner near the headlight. This car even still sports the original window glass stampings as well as the original underhood stickers. Overall this is an amazingly well-preserved example! THE INTERIOR The interior of this 1979 528i is as equally impressive as the exterior. I would rate this car a solid 9.5 on a scale of 1-10. It is close to flawless with ALL SYSTEMS IN PERFECT WORKING ORDER from the factory electric sunroof, to the Blaupunkt am/fm cassette stereo to COLD AIR CONDITIONING to the defroster. Minor blemishes include a very light crack on the top of the dash, a 1/4" spot on the passenger seat and some wear on the driver side seat cushion material. As you can see in the picasa photo detail link, even the factory carpets look close to new with some light sun fading where they were uncovered by the mats. [A set of blue carpet mats will be included with the car as well.] Even inside the rear boot is in exceptional original condition with a very nice set of factory tools in the kit. THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE This classic BMW sedan starts, runs and drives EXTRAORDINARILY WELL with excellent power and buttery smooth and willing acceleration from its 160 horsepower inline six cylinder. The clutch takeup is smooth and direct, the suspension is beautifully supple, quiet and controlled with excellent tracking on the highway, the braking is very good and the car. The transmission shift beautifully under normal driving though I did notice that hard downshifts sometimes produce a slight protesting grinding. The car is ready for the 5 speed upgrade anyway which is included with the car. Overall this car is an absolute joy to drive! THE DETAILS AND $$$$$$ 1.
