Vehicle Detail

I bought this car about 8 months ago. The gentlemen I bought it from, purchased it from someone who had the car in storage for several years. Probably , the reason the car looks so nice. I brought the car to my Mercedes mechanic, and told him to fix everything, mechanically and cosmetically, regardless of the cost. I told him I was in no rush. Eight months later he finished. He did a wonderful job on the car. I am not trying to discourage any potential buyers, but this is not your typical driver wagon. A lot of money was spent on this car and it shows. The best does not come cheap, and most buyers that are looking for the best, know that. You are bidding on a 1985 Mercedes 300 TD Turbo Diesel wagon. I am not a dealer. The car has been inspected and everything was brought up to working conditions, like it was when the car was new. This car looks fantastic, and mechanically runs like it should. The interior and exterior are in excellent condition. No rips or tears in the seats, very little wear, anywhere. The headliner is perfect. As an added bonus, it gets 25 mpg around town and about 35mpg on the highway. Rare car, as there were not many of these turbo diesel wagons made. Many are in the junk yard, rusting away. Mercedes 123 diesels are known to go at least 500,000 miles or more before they require any major work. Mechanical: The car has 171,000 miles, which is low for these Mercedes diesels. An average of just over 6,600 miles per year!! The car has been completely reviewed mechanically. I will list everything that has been done to the car. All performed by a certified Mercedes Benz mechanic with over 20 years of experience. 1. The exhaust has been checked -is in good shape. 2. The A/C had a complete flush and R 134 A REF. Blows ice cold! 3. Has new in car temperature sensor. 4. New hood pad 5. Replaced Rear View Mirror 6. Car has been completely and extensively detailed. 9. All new dash light and console bulbs 10. All new drive belts 11. All new fuel filters 12. Changed oil and filter 13. Replaced air filter and air cleaner mounts 14. Valve adjustment 15. New antenna mast, motor, and rubber grommet 16. Replaced console window switches. Old ones had worn icons which I can't stand!! 17. Front and rear brake pads 19. Transmission service. Completely drained. New filter and fluid added. 20. Intake pipe seal 21. Differential fluid was changed 24. master vacuum switch 25. Complete Brake flush 26. Rear Brake Rotors 27. Wheel bearing kit, left front 28. All new glow plugs 29. New Boot around Shifter 30. New Mercedes floor mats 31. New shocks for the rear hatch 32. New wiper blades, front and rear 33. Touch up paint 34. 4 matching Michelin tires 95% tread 35. Front end alignment 36. New dash screw covers. 37. A/C compression seals 38. No rust 39. All Vacuum elements where replaced, including the hard to get at center vent vacuum. 40. No vacuum leaks anywhere!! All related items, operated by vacuum, work as they should. Door locks, trunk lock, gas lock, all vents blow properly, including the center vents. 41. New headlight doors. 42. Engine, cleaned and detailed 43. New plastic grill insert, and a couple of new metal bars on grill 44. Factory tool kit, factory first aid kit. Exterior The car is Champagne Mettalic Code 8473. Chrome is nice, all around. Seals around doors and windows also look excellent. Car was garaged and it shows. Glass is excellent- no chips or cracks. Wheels were redone in the correct Astral silver color, and clear-coated. Has excellent looking roof rack, along with the cross bars. Paint is excellent all around. No leaks Interior MB Tex Vynil interior. Color is Palimino. Also has the rare third seat, complete with seat belts. Floor mats are new and headliner is perfect. Overall, the interior looks like it has very little wear at all. All seats where removed, so cleaning carpets, and vacuuming could be done properly. Dash looks as good as the day it left the showroom. Usually they have several cracks. Wood looks excellent all around. The carpets look excellent. There is a sunroof that functions perfectly!! Has an aftermarket Kenwood single CD player and radio. Original radio come with the car, but not sure if it works. Vacuum locks work as they should. Power windows work properly. Vents all blow air, including the center vents. Tachometer works properly. Comes with the original tool kit and original first aid kit, and manuals. Car is in excellent condition, mechanically and cosmetically. Check my feedback. I don't make claims that are not true. I am very picky and very precise and don't miss too many details!! The new owner, WILL NOT be disappointed. You could go and spend more money on a new car that won't last as long as this one, not to mention the difference in what they will both be worth in 5 years. These diesels hold their value. A lot of work, time, and money were spent on this car, and it shows. If something needed fixing, regardless of how big or small, it was done. The only thing this car needs is a new owner. The new owner will need to do nothing, when they get this car. I have the owner’s manual. No records. The car has a clean Auto Check, with the mileage verified. Car drives fantastic, runs like new, and looks gorgeous!! Don’t miss the nicest wagon on Ebay, now and in the future. Here is the feedback for the Mercedes, sold in January of 2009: “Amazingly GREAT seller. His feedback is well deserved. Cannot say enough! Thx” _____________________________________________________________________________ Here are a couple of comments from past buyers: Good morning Randy, You were right, the car is fabulous! We arrived home about 3:30 AM on Saturday. The trip back was very smooth…just a little Friday PM traffic north on 75 but other than that it couldn’t have been better. We did about 1750 miles in 32 hours so needless to say I was glad to get to a bed. Thanks so much for your and your wife’s graciousness and hospitality during our visit. The drinks and snacks were a very kind gesture and much appreciated. Thanks also for making this a truly satisfying transaction that did indeed deliver more than was expected. Since I felt that I contributed some influence to my dad’s decision, I was concerned that he be happy with his decision. As we were driving away, I asked him what he really thought. He said it was even better than he expected. You really have to know him to know what a compliment that was, both to the car and to your honest appraisal of its appearance and condition. It was very nice to meet and do business with someone that shares our values regarding honest and integrity. As we discussed, those traits are becoming harder and harder to find these days. ___________________________________ Dear Randy: It's Saturday morning and I finally have some time and peace of mind to properly write you. The flurry of activities all started Wednesday night when Steve called and said he can deliver the car on Thursday morning. I made arrangements at work to be at home. On Thursday morning he was hitting traffic and so he arrived around noon. Right before Steve arrived, your packet arrived. I step out and Steve begins to unload a 2008 Mercedes but lo and behold, there is this cream beauty tucked inside. My mouth drops and I am quiet as I see the car. I am afraid to even get in it. Steve shows me the paperwork and I tell him it's a gift for my mom, etc. I get in the car and I am scared now. I don't know how I drove the literally 200 feet to my indoor garage but I managed to. I parked and bid farewell. But I kept on looking back and back. I went back to my apartment and then within an hour came down to see if it was still there. Yesterday, I should have worked but I could not bear the thought of the car not having tags, etc. and so I did the unthinkable and just waited the entire day at DMV (10-4:30) getting temporary tags, then inspection, then title, registration. THEN, I realized and saw the car. Before it was just too surreal. Randy, the car is gorgeous. It is everything you described it to be. I circled around the car like an artist admiring a painting. I then decided that I should just drive it. And so I did. I drove 40 miles to Maryland and back. It drives like a new car. Now, I understand why you told me to fly down and drive it back from Florida. Randy, I don't know how to do anything - opening the trunk, opening the hood, etc. - but it is because I am mesmerized by the car. THEN I started to reflect on how I came in the possession of this car. It started with you. I don't know what I did to deserve meeting someone of your caliber but I must have done something right. I recall our first series of emails and then our conversation. It is getting superfluous now but let me say it again and with the deepest conviction and emphasis - I bought you. The car just came with your integrity and honesty – your persona. Mrs. Piro and the children are blessed. I have called my mother and told her my impressions. I have never heard her this excited. I know she is going to say and feel what I saw and felt. It is a beauty. Your care shines through and through. Vinny's care is self-evident. Please convey to Vinny my deepest thanks for his care of the vehicle. But most important of all, I owe you a deep gratitude for making this happen. With your advice and counsel, I hope to properly take care of this car. I am in the national security business - and it is a tough business. It does not take long for one to become cynical about fellow human beings and about the world. You have restored some of my belief that the world still contains people such as yourself. Again, it's not the car. It's you. I hope you and I will remain in touch. I am certain I will have questions for you and Vinny. (e.g. when should I check the oil or have someone change oil and other important liquids, service schedule, etc.). Thank you, again and again and again. _________________________________________________________ Randy, Sorry I took so long to get back to you. Let me first say, I am very pleased with the car. It drove the 650 miles home perfectly. I average over 32 mpg at 75 mph most of the way. My first tank in city driving was 28.4. After I told all my friends and coworkers about how fairly you treated me during this transaction, I think they want in line for one of your cars. I have bought a couple of cars off of EBay, and this was, by far the best transaction I have had. It is very refreshing to meet someone who is so obviously passionate about, not only maintaining great cars, but in representing yourself so well. I will definitely stay in touch, and look to you when my wife allows me to have another car. I would love to make you an offer on the 300CD, but she would KILL me! Thank you again for your kindness and honesty. It was a pleasure to meet you, and I am sure I will speak to you soon. ______________________________________________________________________ I only sell what I would buy myself. This is a very nice wagon. Inspections are more than welcome BEFORE the auction ends, but NO INSPECTIONS AFTER the auction ends. Check my feedback. Again, this is a private sale, I am not a dealer. Enjoy the benefits of a personalized transaction! If you have any questions, email me. I check my mail often! I reserve the right to end auction early. If you are looking for one of these long lasting diesels, then do yourself a favor, and don't miss this car!! It is very important to put a lot of weight in the seller’s feedback rating, when spending high $$$ on Ebay. I am very proud of my rating and work very hard to satisfy all my buyers. I own a 1985 300CD coupe with 28,000 one owner miles. This car drives, shifts, and runs as nice as my 28,000 mile car does!! If you are looking for one of these rare wagons don't miss this one. 1985 was the last year Mercedes made these wagons. It is one of the sharpest color combinations available. Thanks , any questions please email me.
