Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is this lovely orange 1997 BMW 318i. It is extremely clean as the pictures show with maintenance to match. It is easily one of the coolest colors BMW has ever made, and I've only seen it on one other car! It's Orange in the sunlight but can shift to an almost purple-ish hue when its cloudy. It's kind of like a sunset. If only they made M3's this color! We have owned it almost two years now and have found it to be extremely reliable, comfortable, and fun to drive. It even gets good gas mileage, what BMW can say that? We are a BMW enthusiast family and can ensure that it has received the best care possible to stay on the road for many years to come. The car runs and drives great, all windows, lights, sunroof, and switches work as they should. The A/C blows cold and the heat blows hot. It even has heated seats! The only thing that does not work is the CD changer in the trunk. Everything is there but it does not work. I just listen to the I-pod so I never thought to look into it. There are some light scratches and marks that are to be expected in an older car but nothing serious. I get comments all the time from people thinking its ten years newer than it really is because it's so clean! The car was purchased from a BMW technician who took very good care of it. Don't let the miles scare you, these cars will run forever if they are properly maintained. Some of the work we had done is as follows: Oil changed every 3,000 miles (last done at 180k) Coolant flushed and Thermostat in August 2011 Front and Rear Brakes and Rotors in June 2011 Rear Shocks and Suspension Bushings in March 2011 New Battery and Alternator in February 2011 New Ignition in August 2010 (Common problem with these cars) New Windshield in May 2010 Tune-up in May 2010 All in all it is a great car that would make a great commuter car or a safe reliable car for a new driver. It is currently driven by my girlfriend who has a 35 minute commute. The reason we are selling it is that she wants a 5-speed car to learn on. It is ready to go in every way, just drive it home! If there are any questions or need for more photos please ask early and ask often. I don't want anyone to be surprised. If you are local and would like to test drive it BEFORE the auction ends just let me know and we can make arrangements. Wondering why the car is listed at NO RESERVE ? Remember the old eBay that was actually run like an auction? It was more fun right? Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Bid early and bid often! Thanks for looking! A $500 non-refundable paypal deposit is due within 24 hours following the auctions end. The balance is due within 7 days of the auctions end. Pickup is due within 7 days of the auctions end. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the vehicle is for sale locally. On Sep-30-11 at 09:59:01 PDT, seller added the following information: Great job everyone, what great bidders!!! More bids equals better karma you know! I've received a few questions that I feel more people will be asking so here's some answers. There is a tear in the drivers seat that is not torn all the way through, but the surface is peeling. It was there when we bought it and has not gotten any worse. Likewise there are two rusty spots on the passenger side sill. The rust is not bad, The guy we bought it from had it treated with magic voodoo stuff so it wouldn't spread, and it hasn't. I've put better pictures of both up for closer inspection.
