Vehicle Detail
STUNNING! 1953 Oldsmobile Super 88 sedan in mint condition! This luxurious sedan was lovingly restored over 5 years ago and is still in perfect shape, I will try to hit the highlights of this stately vehicle. Motor & Trans: Motor is a freshly rebuilt original Rocket 303 with a four barrel carb. Rebuilt from top to bottom with excellent oil pressure, chrome coil, rebuilt fuel pump, and no noise. Motor has old stock Fenton polished fined aluminum valve covers (Fenton is stamped on the inside of both, this is not a Chines re-pop), original (not reproduction) cool air cleaner, motor also has custom tubed headers and all new dual exhaust with a low cool tone...not loud, the car even has the original jelly jar windshield washer fluid container. Transmission is a total rebuild, I believe the trans to be a top loader Buick case, thus removing the factory 3-on-the-tree and putting it on the floor. Car shifts as smooth as silk with no slip. The engine compartment was stripped and repainted. The car has a new radiator with all new hoses and wiring. Suspension is factory but has had a total rebuild with all new bushings and joints. Car steers perfect and true, even thought it is not a power steering car it handles like it has power. The car drives VERY straight and effortlessly at 65+. Body: This body is rock solid and laser straight, I urge you to see it if you can because it is all that and some. The body is mint with no bondo or any bodywork showing (because there is nothing to hide). The original trim is all in great polished shape with only two tinny dimples in the whole car. Yes the body was nosed and decked to remove some clunky factory features. The trunk has a hidden latch release behind the gas door. Bottom of the doors, jambs, sills, and fenders are all in factory condition. Floors have been professionally repaired in a few spots, but are done right and look great. Windows and glass: All windows are spotless! All new felt was installed everyplace, and all regulators work factory perfect with NO slop or clunks. Yes ther rear side windows roll down also, and are in great conditon. All new door and window seals are installed also making for a ultra quiet ride inside. Interior: Yes the interior is as perfect as the pics show. A stunning white and teal interior with custom door and side panels all in new conditon. factory dash and arm rest look great. All gauges work and are in great shape. Headlights, turn signals, windshield wipers, and interior lights (even the under dash lights) work perfect. A newer AM/FM/CD with MP3 hookup head unit is hidden in the glovebox and two 6x9 speakers are in the rear deck. The car is so tight and quiet that the radio can be heard without cranking the volume. The trunk has also gotten the custom panels with a spare cover and factor jack is hidden in its own custom sock. The trunk has a hidden panel for the battery relocation and speaker access. All vents work great and heater heats well. Rims have been blasted and repainted a vivid Red with original beautiful Oldsmobile hub caps and new wide white wall tires. The trunk holds a full size matching red rim spare with new white wall also. This is a real show winner and reliable coast to coast cruiser. NO mechanical issues, NO paint issues, a real professionally restored classic. Jump in go to that national event and show it....ITS READY!
