1978 SUZUKI RM 125HARD TO FIND 1978 SUZUKI RM 125 cc ! With Very Low Hours on Her !!! I believe this is the Last year of this version of this AMAZING 1975-78 "C" version of the RM 125 So I am sure SUZUKI has worked out any & All bugs then... I would think. Please Check out how Nice the NOS ~Brand New GERMAN Metsler Rear tire (I was told these were the equiv. of nearly $100.00 Tire ! ! ! ! Also She has had All Sturdy STAINLESS Steel Spokes (VERY STRONG) installed on her !!! (YES & on both the Front and Back Wheels ! ! ! ! FEAR NOT ! ! ! These are Super Nice Easy to Ride Very Forgiving Bikes & Without Question are ....Very RELIABLE & SUPER FUN ! FUN ! FUN ! to Ride This is a Bike that most everyone seems to think feels very natural to them & fits most say it fits them like a Glove ! It is Super light AMAZINGLY Agile & Great for New Riders as it's seat is only about 33 "off the Ground & if your sitting down on the bike it's Actually only about 29 1/2" to about 31 inches off the ground !!! (way more do-able than most new bikes are these days !!!!!!!!) Most People agree these are Possibly one of the MORE FUN , MOST RELIABLE & Best Built & "Hands Down" one of the MOST Trouble Free Dirt Race bikes made ! & This Baby Runs GREAT ! as good as she looks I have to say she Runs Even Better than she looks if that is possible !! ) & Typically Starts on the First or second KICK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are a lot of UTube etc web sites showing people having a Great time ridding these Amazing Dirt Racing Bikes !!! and there are plenty of Great People that carry a TON of parts for these Wonderful SUZUKI RM 125 cc Dirt/ Race bikes should you ever need anything! It's Front & Rear Fenders and Side panels are on Good Shape and like her beautiful tank have been refinished and as you can see Look Great ! & Yes, She has what looks to be New old stock Original 1978 Gas Tank etc Graphics !!!! My Mechanic and I flushed out the tank, Carb Fuel lines & the entire Fuel System & added a Brand New in line Gas Filter ....( & when we put new gas in her ...She Started on the FIRST KICK ...WOW ! ! ! ) ...So this baby is Ready to Go have some fun with ! Try to keep in mind these Wonderful Bikes are all About FUN ! ......Think About it if You pass this Baby Up ....where else will you ever find a 1978 RM 125 CC with so little use & so Little abuse ...on her ! ! ! Most everyone that I have talked to over the years has told me that this was one of the very Best bikes of it's day....& based on my experience with these RM 125's ... I would have to add maybe "One of the Best bikes EVER !!!! I purchased this over a year ago & I still have the Bill of sale I received from the prior owner. Since this is a Race Bike & is designed to race on Moto Cross tracks etc...I have never had it put into my name as around here transfer is handed by "bill of sale" from one owner to the next owner here in California with Dirt Racing bikes that are used on Dirt Bike Moto Cross Tracks etc. . This has been in storage for many years & being a Vintage Dirt Racing bike I do not believe this has ever been registered here in California & therefore it should not have any back fees because of this. If you live out of the Country I will be glad to supply you with a California Certified "NOTORIZED BILL of SALE" as I recently sent two of my Vintage Collection bikes to the United Kingdom (England) and that is all that they required. To my eye ...I think it looks Great ! ...I have always been very Proud of this particularly Beautiful 1978 RM 125 cc...& Even in 2011 She still Strts Instantly & Runs & Shifts GREAT ! as these are Super Reliable Bikes ! & Everyone seems to be in agreement that .... "These Bikes are GREAT ! & Quite Possibly one of the Most FUN & RELIABLE Bikes I have Ever ridden in the past 5 decades Since the late 1950's !" (...& I was a Technical Editor for Cycle News Magazine (at that time it was the Largest Motorcycle publication on Earth ! ! ! & I wrote 14 Four to Five page Featured Techincal Articals for "Cycle News" magizine & I was a Four+ Year Sponsored Open Class "TT" & "Half Mile" Racer for "BULTACO" Motorcycles late 1969 to 1975 So ...No One Loves a Great Dirt Bike Better than Me ! ....and again ........If you Pass Up this Wonderful Bike where will you ever find a 1970's SUZUKI 125 with so little use on Her ! ????? ?????? This is a Bike that most anyone could Have "BIG FUN" ridding all day long On ! Most everyone I have talked with agrees these SUZUKI RM 125 CC have hands down Always been considered one of the Worlds BEST Dirt / Racing bikes & SUZUKI has Long Been known for their Trouble Free, Reliability. The RM 125 CC SUZUKI's are probably one of the Easiest to Ride & Most Most Rider Friendly Dirt Racing Bikes ever Made !!! & this 1978 is BY FAR one of the Most Evolved Early Susessful Dirt Racing Bikes as it has all of the Most sought after Goodies (self Tuning Reed Valve inductions system, For the First time Decent "Pressured" "Big Travel" Forks & "Pressured" Decent Travel Rear Shock with a heat treated Aluminum "Super Strong" ALLOY rear Swing arm suspension ("in 1978 All of this was "Rocket Science" that Really worked GREAT " ! ! ! ), Very Simple less hassle far more reliable Air Cooled (than the early water cooled 125cc SUZUKIs I have heard) (this being one of the last years of these Very Perfected RM 125 cc (Air Cooled) engine ( Factory Tuned MX Race Chamber style) Pipe , Factory Big Cooling HEAD & All of this Yet She is still nice and (relatively) fairly low to the Ground (Way less Scary for Newer Riders) and because of her Nice Low height She will even fit in right into my Chevy Astro Mini Van even with the vans center seat still in place !!!! How many 125 CC DIRT RACING bikes can do that ! This Baby Typically Starts On The First Kick ! I believe this Has her original Factory seat that was Completely rebuilt from the frame up by my Custom Car Upholstery Shop & she also has her Original SUZUKI Gas tank that still looks and is in GREAT Condition with a Brand New SUZUKI Tank Graphic ! Her Gas tank has been Newly refinished & Painted as are the Front & Right & Left side panels and Both Front & year Fenders. YES ! the gas tank Graphics have been replaced with what looks to be ORIGINAL New Old Stock or incredibly Accurate Graphics that look perfect to me to the 1978 decals that SUZUKI installed back when this bike was new ! The inside of her tank looks GREAT. Handlebars, Pegs, shifter, She has Brand New Handlebar Grips ! brake levers etc etc are still in Very Nice Condition ! I think one of the bike foot pegs are a little bent forward but it is just at the outer portion & it overall aligns actually just fine (it actually works well just as she is as it is just the tin outer tip !) The Shifter and Brake levers look Perfect ! Her Engine serial number is RM 125 77933 which may be a little newer than the frame as it is a slightly higher number. This Beauty has been in storage for Many Years (I would guess Several Decades!) & is just returning to service again & She is "Running Great" I think the more you run her the better she will run ! Make No Mistake this Baby: Runs, Shifts & Rides GREAT ! * * * Again.... Think About it , if You pass this Baby Up .....where else will you ever find a 1979 SUZUKI RM 125 CC with very little use on her ! ! ! ??????????????????????? This Wonderful Bike was storage in a Nice Dry Garage for Several Decades. Once we flushed the tank & Carburetor + put in fresh gas & She started right up, Instantly (on the Very "FIRST KICK" ! ! ! ! ! ! !) My mechanic & I washed out the carburator and & tank & installed a Brand New inline fuel filter etc...& Every time we have run this Beautiful Bike over the past few weeks "The Engine Runs Great and Typically starts on the FIRST Kick" ! It runs well & seems Shifts well thru the gears Perfectly. Which puts this several (3 or 4) inches below most any newer bike seats.... and makes the bike feel a lot More agile & Far less top heavy...(IE) YES, The bike has a very stable ...it almost has a Great Trails Bike, like feel to it. & yet it is low enough to do some Great Drifting with etc etc . * * * If you have any new riders they will appreciate the very Do-able Stance and Stable (Not Top Heavy) feel of this Magnificent SUZUKI RM 125 cc bike. PLEASE NOTE: These bikes in Great Condition typically sell for about $2,000.00 to 3,000.00 & & up particularly with the Super Low time on her this bike has You can steal this bike for just Pennies on the Dollar....As I need to make space here as we lost all of my storage next door ...So my loss could be your gain as ...I am selling this well under market value. If you are a Vintage Bike Enthusiast and LOVE to tinker on these Wonderful Bikes you will make out like a Bandit on this Beautiful Bike for the Ridiculously Low price I have listed it. I was Really hoping this bike would end up with someone that is a Vintage Bike Enthusiast Someone that would really enjoy riding & getting a chance to Really ENJOY this wonderful "FUN" bike. As I would prefer it Not to end up with a "nit picker" that knows nothing about these Wonderful bikes and is just trying to make a profit re-sale-ing this bike and in reality cares nothing about this bike. So if you are a "nit picker" please do not bid on this auction as I want this bike to go to a good home that will Love it ....as it Should Be ! I feel Overall the bike is in Great running Condition. . The Engine RUNS GREAT and typically Starts instantly ! ! ! ! She Shifts Great. I think just running this bike a little She will Run better and better and Better . Again, as mentioned earlier I have an agreement with my wife that I will only tinker and I have agreed not ride any of my vintage bike collection & in my Mid 60's it seems like a reasonable request. So... there you have it you can get this Great Find for about a Third of what I have seen these go for...A GREAT Bike that is built good enough to last Many More decades & Will Always be collectible and will always have a Following of Delightful People that Know and Respect these Great Motorcycles from SUZUKI ..."a Company that has Won Many World Championships for a over half a Century" !...a High Quality Japanese 1970's thru 1978 Bike..... that Runs GREAT & is most likely just Barely broken in... All this for Peanuts ! On Sep-14-11 at 07:57:43 PDT, seller added the following information: Hi Again, I am sure I covered this somewhere before in the auction, But please note: Buyer is responsible for & pays for any and all shipping involved with this item. Thank You On Sep-17-11 at 22:38:28 PDT, seller added the following information: This has pressurized Suspension that feels like it works GREAT ! Th Engine Starts very quickly typically on the first or second kick, Again this has ALL Stainless spokes and a what looks to be a Never been ridden on Metzler rear tire. My Mechanic told me he thought these were about a Hundred dollars these days ! When We cleaned out the Carb & Gas tank everything looked ver yclean even before we got there ! On the right rear axle I had to substitute some hardware to provide a spacer & also for the right rear adjuster a Large area washer was substituted. As you can see the bike looks Great It Runs and Shifts amazing also the front & rear Suspension and Brakes also feel Great ! This is a Nice Dirt RACING bike that I believe looks to be in Very Good Condition overall.
