Vehicle Detail
800x600 Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 2001 Honda XR650R. $3500 obo. Roughly 6k miles estimated to be on the bike (difficult to know for sure, without a odometer). I purchased this from a private party, in Reno NV. The gentleman I purchased it from, worked at Michael’s Powersports and someone had brought this XR650R in on trade. The owner had ran it low on oil, so Michael’s replaced the ENTIRE top end and connecting rod (piston, valves, rocker, cam… everything). I broke it in (as it hadn’t been ridden but 100 miles) properly with lots of engine braking and frequent oil changes for the first 500 miles. Changed the jetting to match our lower altitude, and put in the 68S pilot jet ~ starts in 3 kicks, cold. I put all my aftermarket parts on it, and his summer I put about 5000 miles on it, dual sporting it throughout Idaho. Our family is expecting another addition, so it’s time to sell it and buy something the family can benefit from, such as a UTV or 4x4 (Samurai, Jeep, etc). Aftermarket parts are as follows: Aluminum skid plate which protects the cases as well. I have the original as well. Moose lever protectors, with stock plastic bark busters. Shorty levers to compensate. Custom seat by Dave Fisher ~ twice the width of stock with a gripper cover Turbo City subframe and rear rack for gear. An inexpensive set of rear saddlebags is included with the bike, seen in this ride report (http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?p=16150625&highlight=hell%27s+canyon#post16150625) Trail Tech speedo included ~ not currently hooked up (I used GPS) Re-usable stainless steel Scott’s oil filter FMF Powercore Exhaust Baja Designs Dual Sport lighting kit ATV high rise bars (for comfort when standing) Pro Rally II grips IMS platform footpegs XR’s Only tube pouch on front fender, with front & rear tube at goes with the bike. Acerbis 6.7 gallon tank (250 mile range… at least) Uni Air filter in it, and 2 more spares go with it. Works Connection frame guards on both sides. Oil temperature dipstick Last spring, I re-did the valve stack in both the forks and shock, according to Borynack’s recommendations for trail riding. It’s now VERY plush and set up for fast dual sport riding (designed to absorb big hits at high speeds). Jay, from Sasquatch suspension helped re-charge the shock properly after replacing the shock oil. Fork seals were replaced at this time, as well. This spring, I pulled the wheel bearings and swing arm bearings to lube them, and ensure they’re in good condition ~ they are, and they’re packed. As best as I can tell, the rear sprocket and chain have about 6k on them. I put a new 14t countershaft sprocket on, about 1k ago. Rear tire is currently a Michelin T63, with about 60% tread, and the front is a Pirelli Scorpion with 90% tread. Both tires are DOT approved. It’s a great combo for this bike; very aggressive offroad, while still maintaining adequate traction on pavement.I've got a Pirelli MR18 that's 90%, that can go to the new owner, if they'd like it... it's a very aggressive dirt tire, that's still DOT approved. I just set the valves to .006 for the intake, and .008 for the exhaust. Oil was changed just before the last ride. Air filter is clean, chain is lubed and the bike is ready to go. Clear Idaho title, in my name, ‘in hand’. Please let me know if you have any questions.
