Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1958 Brookwood Wagon. Purchased from the original owner in Colorado 2 years ago I have done the following, replaced the fuel pump, removed the fuel tank, cleaned and coated the tank, installed a new fuel tank sending unit, all new fuel line, water pump, radiator, t-stat and heater hoses, flushed the system, fresh oil and filter change twice. The owner parked the car in 1969 due to the clutch slipping and it was going to need a new set of tires. I have done the above repairs to get the car going again. The engine runs very well but does smoke, if I could drive the car awhile I think it would clear up but it's going to need the clutch replaced and the brakes done before it could be driven any distance. I was able to drive it for a mile or two but couldn't accelerate much as the clutch is about gone, but the engine ran great, trans shifted nice, the shifter is without excessive play, steering is also tight and the suspension does not sag. All the gauges worked and most of the lights and turn signals were working. It also needs tires and exhaust. The spare is good and the original jack and hardware are all in place. The body will need some rust repair, the front floors are gone and the rear foot well area should also be replaced, front fender caps and bottom corners, and a few patches here and there. Bumpers are nice and straight as is grill. Car has never been modified. I have the original paperwork and the title from when the car was paid off in 1962. It's has the original 81 year old owners name which matches all the sales paperwork from when the car was new. The headliner, visors, door panels, dash are in very nice shape, front seat is ripped and should have both front and rear covers replaced. I have the original wheels for the front also with old shot Sears Alstate tires from 1965 which is the only replacements I guess the car ever had along with the snows. It just has some rollers on the front that hold air so I can move it around. This car will certainly need some restoration but is a diamond in the rough. I had a few 235s over the years all with manual transmissions and I love their simplicity and how well they drive. Please dont bid if you have under 10 and less than a 100% feedback score as I will cancel your bid. There are no warranties implied or written, auction may end at any time. I forgot to mention all doors open and close like new, all glass is good except for a small crack in the windshield at the curve on the drivers side.
