This GT/CS has some serious rust damage to the hood and roof. It is however, pretty solid underneath and would certainly make a beautiful California Special Mustang! It has a very impressive list of factory options. It doesn't have the original engine and most of the A/C components are missing from the engine bay. This car does not run, I haven't attempted to start it. I did put mystery oil into the cylinders and was able to manually turn the engine, so it isn't frozen. This car sat for at least 15 years, so it obviously needs to be restored, but it is a super rare car and would make a great investment. All of the Shelby/Cal Special fiberglass is intact including the deck lid, quarter extensions, taillight panel & side scoops. The Lucas lights and hood locks are missing even though a couple of pictures show hood locks, unfortunately they are no longer on the car.. click on any of the larger pictures to view a full size image in a new window. I've added 40 additional photos below. Here is some other information, if there are any other questions let me know! Rust: The hood is rusted beyond repair and will need to be replaced. I've included close ups of the roof rust and some additional areas of concern around the quarters and doors. Some old body work can be seen. The engine bay appears to be very solid and the framerails and underside of the car also look good. I poured some water in the cowls and it did not leak into the interior, but don't take that a guarantee they aren't rusted. I think the car was parked near the ocean and that explains the roof rust. Engine: The engine in the car is a 1966 289 4 barrel with a Holley carb on it. It doesn't run and I've made no attempts to get it running. It did turn over with a wrench on the crankshaft. Interior: The interior will need to be totally redone. The seat covers and headliner are torn.
