For sale by owner: 1994 Volkswagen Golf III GL 2 door hatchback. ONLY TWO OWNERS AND NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT! I am selling my little runabout because I just have too many vehicles and need to downsize. I am selling with no reserve and will NOT sell it out from anyone if there is even a single bid on her...I always hate someone selling their car and leave the disclaimer " I have the right to sell outside of Ebay at any time." If you bid on this car and are the highest bidder it will be yours! I have a 100% positive feedback and plan on keeping it that way, so here is the description as honest and descriptive as I can be. Here is the information about this little gem. Mechanical: 2.0 liter engine that doesn't skip a beat and runs just fine. The engine doesn't have any issues nor do any check engine lights come on or have ever been on since I have owned it. I don't notice any leaks in oil from anywhere on the engine and it doesn't burn any oil. In fact, I just changed the oil with synthetic oil and a new filter about 100 miles ago. Brakes are good but may need to be replaced sometime in the spring if I still owned it. The parking brake works as well and is solid. I just replaced the muffler about a week ago as it had some small holes in it and the rest of the system is very solid from the resonator up to the engine. Tires are also great and are summer tires...the rims are like new and I have four snow tires that are virtually brand new. I think I put about 500 miles on them on one season. The only two mechanical repairs this car would need is the rack to be replaced for the steering and perhaps one front hub or bearing. I have been driving it without replacing the rack it and it just drives like it doesn't have power steering, so not really an issue for me. I DO have a rack for it but just haven't installed it...it is a used one but the seals are good and ready to be installed. I am guessing the front bearing is bad or perhaps the hub...I did buy the two front bearings thinkin I would repair the least expensive parts first (the hubs arent much though and can find them on Ebay for about 50 or less). I am guessing this is the issue as when it reaches 40mph or higher there is a humming (like a small plane taking off from a distance) noise but doesn't have any vibration in the steering or affect the driving. The air conditioning blows ice-cold and heater also works just as it should. All lights and gauges also work just fine. The car passed inspection with flying colors less than 6 months ago. This car shifts fine and the clutch feels still tight and no concerns other than the two issues I mentioned. The body and interior: the body of this car for a 1994 is simply awesome! Look for yourself...the car shines and is virtually rust free...with the only exception being on the outside of the edge of the hatch and underneath it a little bit more than outside...there is no rust through spots anywhere on the car. The car was in PA most it's life and was always garaged from the previous owners. There are of course some minor scratches and a few dings, but nothing really noticeable or of any concern. In short, this car looks like it's 5 years old. Inside the interior is also very nice, with only one spot (on driver's seat) that has a patch over it. Also, the hatch needs to be released on the inside compartment (between the seats) to open as the outside latch doesn't work to release the lock. There is also an alarm on the car that does work. The carpet is nice and almost no sign of wear...the original floor mats are still in great shape. The one passenger mat has some coffee stains but can be cleaned easily. The dash is solid and no cracks or breaks. The interior is smoke free and was pet free too. Also included in the sale is the previously mentioned rack for the steering, the two front wheel bearings, and four perfect snow tires on separate rims (see picture of the one). These tires have about 500 miles on them and virtually brand new; the rims have some slight pitting but look respectable. I will help arrange in shipping but the car must be paid for in full. On Sep-15-11 at 18:26:57 PDT, seller added the following information: Some questions have been coming in about people concerned driving the car to where they live...it is definitely driveable and no issues other than the bearing and steering as mentioned in my description. The steering is fine, but does drive like a car without power steering and handles just fine. As far as the bearing is concerned, the sound only really begins around 40 and the faster you go the louder the sound...it is driveable, but would be somewhat annoying for a long trip. I also have been asked about transit plates in NYS. I beleive one can get an in-transit tag if they go to our local DMV and can show proof of insurance and the paperwork. I will assist in helping you anyway I can by taking you to the DMV if that's the case. Also, I DO HAVE THE Title in my possession and there is NO LIEN against the car. Once it is paid for it's yours!
