Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Special Features: This 2003 BMW 540i M-Sport is in great condition. This vehicle has 86,600 miles on it. It has had two owners/drivers. This car drives beautifully, is very fast, and handles incredibly (especially well because of the M-Sport suspension and wheels). The wheels are staggered - 18 x 8" front, 18 x 9" rear - 235/40R18 front, 265/35R18 rear. The 4.4 liter, V8 is in amazing condition and has been completely reliable since I have owned the car. It continues to take my breath away every time I fire it up. The manual transmission is in excellent condition. At each change of the gears, the driver feels the distinctive BMW shifting notch, which are one of many distinctive features that give BMW sport vehicles such a great quality feel. The tires are in good condition. They have 50% to 60% life remaining. They grip the road like glue in rain and on dry roads. The last owner and I primarily used this care in the non-winter months as is apparent by looking under the carriage and in the wheel wells. The driver's and front passenger's seats are heated for fall and winter months. There is no ripping or tearing in the interior leather and it in near perfect condition. As previously mentioned, this is an M-Sport model, the M badge is rightfully placed on the shifter, each of the open-door fenders, on each wheel, on the outer-driver's side door fender, and on the clutch-foot rest. This model has the leather wrapped M steering wheel. The only places it is not found in on the back of the car next to "540i" and on the engine since it is not a M5, though the suspension make it feel as such! Beware- many people will approach the car thinking that it is an M5. I will miss this car dearly and hope that you (the next owner) will enjoy it and take care of it as I have. Repairs and Maintenance Conducted: The vehicle has been in two minor accidents. The first collision was with a traffic sign that caused caused minor body damage to the front driver's side door and it was replaced and refurbished by a BMW dealership. The second accident was with a block of ice on the highway, which caused minor body damage to the front bumper, which was replaced and repaired by a non-dealership collision shop. There are minor chips in the paint on the hood from pebbles on the highway, which have been touched up to protect the paint job. There are some electrical issues with the dash display. The digital display does not fully display certain characters of letters and numbers as it is supposed to but the characters remain legible. The aforementioned problems with the car are the only ones that I have had. All other repairs were routine maintenance. Oil changes and routine service have been conducted at BMW dealerships throughout its life. The vehicle has never had any major mechanical issues. I am in love with this car's reliability and sustained performance! Please feel free to contact me with any questions about this vehicle at 740-219-1268.
