2003 BMW 330i ZHP SEDAN Rare ~ Fast ~ M-Tuned E46 Sedan 100% Original ~ 1-Owner Car ~ 71,XXX original miles motor replaced by BMW dealer with BMW factory ZHP crate motor at 30,615 miles Please read this entire listing before bidding or sending queries! This auction is NO RESERVE so high bidder owns this Bimmer! You are bidding on the exact beautiful 2003 BMW ZHP shown in the photos. This BMW was leased new by my wife in August 2003, then purchased out of the lease by her. All photos were taken Sep 01, 2011 and the car was not detailed, waxed or washed prior to photos being taken -- what you see is what you get! The car has spent its entire life in Las Vegas and in our possession. We are lifelong auto enthusiasts that have been owning, driving and showing rare, performance and classic cars since 1984. We have owned many classics and show cars over the years, I am extremely picky and you can rest assured I will describe the vehicle accurately and answer your questions directly. Never smoked in, never vomited in, no pets, no kids, no stories. This BMW was built with the rare and highly desirable M-Tuned ZHP Performance Package. Read the ZHP description from WikiPedia: The Performance Package was an inclusive option given to E46 sedans from 2003 to 2005, coupes and convertibles from 2004–2006. It included various aesthetic changes over the regular 3 series, as well as functional and mechanical enhancements. It had M badges on each of its Style 135 wheels, with additional M badging on the multi-function steering wheel and atop the 6-speed short throw weighted shifter. ... The interior had also been modified with half cloth-half alcantara sports seats (optional upgrade to leather), an alcantara-wrapped sports steering wheel (switched to perforated leather in mid-2005), a shorter M-badged shift knob, anthracite colored cloth headliner, and aluminum "cubed" faux-carbon fiber interior trim (available in silver or black). The instrument gauge cluster was also modified with red needles and polished metal trim rings.[21] In the performance department, the ZHP was equipped with the more aggressive DME tune to increase power from 225 hp (168 kW) to 235 hp (175 kW). The engine redline raised from 6,500 rpm to 6,800 rpm to take advantage of the new power band and higher power output at higher RPMs. As a result of the higher redline, the nut that fastens the oil pump's sprocket came with threadlocker pre-applied from the factory to keep the nut from falling off. The car also received a shorter final drive ratio which allows for faster acceleration; 3.07 vs. 2.93 for manuals and 3.64 vs. 3.38 for the automatic. Car & Driver magazine track-tested the car, which returned a 0-60 mph time of 5.6 seconds and passed through the 1/4 mile in 14.3 seconds. In 2003 the ZHP was the only non-M 3-series to feature a 6-speed manual transmission (the Steptronic automatic transmission was not available the first model year (2003), but it was offered from 2004–2006). Suspension was modified over the standard suspension with firmer springs and dampers, larger anti-roll bars, stronger front control arm ball joints, a lower ride height, and slightly more negative camber. The Style 135M wheels also came equipped with the much stickier compound, Michelin Pilot Sport tires, in a staggered configuration with 225/40-18 tires in the front and 255/35-18 tires in the back. I have a 100% complete records history of this BMW that I will provide to the new owner. There is no deferred maintenance at the time this listing was written. A sampling of notable recent maintenance includes: -bi-xenon headlamp lenses replaced with OEM units at 71,500 miles -radiator, belts & fuel pump replaced at 69,570 miles -all tires replaced with factory correct Michelin Pilots on 06/19/10 (about 62k miles) -rear brakes serviced at 55,510 miles -water pump replaced at 51,318 miles -clutch & flywheel replaced at 48,335 miles -motor replaced by dealer with proper BMW ZHP crate motor at 30,615 miles The BMW ZHP was created as an M-massaged sedan (it's not an M3 coupe but it's much more than a 330i), and looks and acts every part of it. I've had dozens of automobiles of all types (including the Alfa Romeo GTV-6 I drive daily) and I have never driven a car that is as rock solid at speed as this one. This car is comfortable and manageable around town: easy to drive, easy to shift, quiet and stealthy when you want her to be. But get on the open highway and the M-division's magic becomes apparent. It is simply awesome: smooth, turbine-like power all the way to nearly 7000 RPM, and feels solid as a rock. I would without a second thought get in this BMW and drive it anywhere. It is essentially as new (with the exception of very minor cosmetic wear), easy to drive, powerful and comfortable. This is a wonderful car for the enthusiast and an excellent opportunity to own a rare, well-cared for, ready-to-drive M-Tuned Bimmer. This BMW had an MSRP of $43,570 in 2003. Please see the window sticker for all options included on the car, plus: Sirius Satellite Radio ($500) and DICE iPod adapter ($250) = $44,320. The original window sticker, all collateral brochures and sales materials, and all service records will be provided to the lucky new owner. DRIVETRAIN & MECHANICS:You have absolutely nothing to concern yourself with. The car has a 6-speed (plus reverse) manual transmission with no deferred maintenance. The motor was replaced by my BMW dealer (the result of a missed 6-to-3 downshift at highway speed). We have put 40k+ miles on the new motor. It runs perfectly, is filled with synthetic oil, and doesn't leak a drop. The transmission shifts effortlessly and flawlessly with two fingers on the lever, without a bump or grind to be had in any gear, upshifting or downshifting. All exterior lights work exactly as intended, the Michelin tires are nearly new, the steering is light and precise, and the brakes stop properly and evenly without pulling or vibration. There is no "deferred maintenance" to worry about; I'd drive her anywhere today. INTERIOR MECHANICS & COSMETICS: 100% factory original, with the exception of a DICE iPod adapter hidden in a compartment in the trunk that allows you to plug in, charge and access the playlists on your iPod or iPhone right from the steering wheel controls, with info readout on the in-dash factory stereo, and allows you to switch between Sirius Satellite Radio, broadcast radio, CDs, and the iPod form the factory stereo. Cool stuff. As you can see, the factory original interior is in excellent condition: no tears, minor wear on the front seat bolster, and more noticeable wear on the alcantara/suede steering wheel, shift boot and shift leather knob. Seats are black leather, heated and full power (fronts). The hardly-used rear leather seats show barely any signs of wear. Dash and carpeting is excellent and like new. Floor mats have been replaced once. The doors and trunk unlock properly with the key remote (one key provided; remote works perfectly on all doors and trunk), the interior lights work properly, the dash lights work, the horn works ... in short, the interior all works as it should. BODY/PAINT/COSMETICS: Looking at the photos you can see what a looker my BMW is, even when it's not detailed. Zero rust anywhere. There is a door ding on rear driver's side wheel arch (see photo) and one on the passenger front door (it would not photograph at all); there is a parking rub on the driver's side rear bumper (see photo) and a chip below the license plate (see photo). Wheels have typical curb rash, but no damage and all balance perfectly. All lights work as they should. Nose shows lighter-than-average rock pitting from highway miles; I try to keep my distance when traveling. Xenon headlights are nice and bright with brand new lenses (covers). MY FINAL ASSESSMENT: I want to provide bidders with as much useful information as I would want myself. I'm a picky enthusiast, and this car has been a joy. By the average (non-enthusiast) observer, it has has been described as "like new." This is a beautiful, excellent running M-Tuned BMW sedan that is ready to drive. You'll enjoy power, acceleration and agility unlike any car in its class. Selling only because the wife wants a new car and I drive my Alfa every day. Car is sold as-is, where-is, with no warranty implied. Please inspect the photos and read my listing carefully, ask any and all the questions you like, come see the car, have it inspected, and understand what I am selling before you bid. I do not appreciate auction interference and implore upon you not to bid unless you intend to win! I have 100% positive feedback and I intend to keep it. I have bought and sold many classic, collector and performance cars on eBay for personal use. This BMW ZHP looks and drives as it should. Good luck on your bidding, and keep in mind that my local credit union holds title, and you will be doing the final payment directly to them. They are willing to speak directly to anyone who wishes to query them on the transaction. Fly in to Las Vegas, we'll meet at my credit union, you make the final bid payment, and then drive this beauty home! If you prefer to ship, that is your responsibility although I will do what I can to assist. My feedback speaks for itself. Thank you and good luck! However, I will be available to answer any all queries through the weekend, so feel free to ask.On Sep-07-11 at 11:57:49 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE: A few interested parties asked about the "Buy It Now" option I mentioned above. The car was listed with a $17,500 "Buy It Now" but on No Reserve auctions, this disappears as soon as a qualifying bid is placed. Also of note, this car does NOT have a Salvage/Rebuilt title, unlike many (if not most) ZHP's listed on eBay. Clean CarFax on hand, so if anyone wants to see it, I'd be happy to e-mail it to you.
