This is a 1980 VW Rabbit Diesel Pickup Truck. It has a great paint job within the last two years. It has a cab that you may put on the back to enclose it. The cab can be taken on or off but you may want to put a new seal on it. You may want to reupholster or cover the inside seats. Someone had large speakers in the two doors that are not there. The inside cab needs esthetic work and needs the exhaust hangers tightened. This truck gives great milage and we have loved it. Tires are good. Must pick up locally. This truck is a classic waiting for the restoration to be completed. I have many VW parts that I will provide for your use. You can see a few of them in the photo of the back of the opened cab. I parted out another VW Rabbit and have lots of extra spare parts included. The body is in good condition with no visable rust that I can see. You must arrange pick up locally. We have owned this car since 1996. We love this classic car but due my husbands vision prevents him from driving anymore. It has a 1.6 diesel engine. The engine is a rebuilt tall block that was installed in 2002 or 2003. I have a known good spare engine also that is not shown in the picture that will be included as well as a few other boxes of hard to find original parts that I have collected over the years. The cab bed of the truck was also coated by the business that painted the exterior of the truck. This truck is being sold as is. In the picture of the front top of the hood....those are leaves on it. It is a 5 speed and the front cab does not leak as far as I know. The original engine had 193,000 miles on it. The current engine has about 5,000 miles on it. This would make the total milage on the vehicle 198,000. It does not have AC. We just rolled the windows down for ourselves. The VIN that I gave is on the registration. I just went to the car and the VIN says 17A0853210. It is a 1980 VIN number. I beleive that the longer VIN numbers are for cars that are 1981 and newer. The truck has been registered in my name since being acquired in 1996. I own the car free and clear and have the title for it. We recently moved from Nevada the first week of June and had the truck towed behind the moving truck. We have been driving it alot locally and it runs well. We are keeping our Prius to drive. My husbands vision does not allow him to drive anymore and we do not need two cars. The seats need to be covered or reupholstered and new carpet.
