Vehicle Detail
High Quality Unmodified Driver gets attention everywhere it goes. Magazine Cover Car Featured on the Cover of the Spring 2009 Discover Smith Mountain Lake Magazine (Additional copies included with car). Runs and Sounds Great and you can actually Drive and Enjoy it without depreciating it. 327/300HP Engine with Correct Date Code. Can’t read numbers on block, so don’t know if numbers are matching. Assume not, but it is the correct engine for the car according to the date code. I don’t know that much about these cars, but I’ll try to answer any questions. The car was in this shape when I bought it on ebay in 2005. I have the records from the previous owner who seems to have fixed or rebuilt anything he could find. I haven’t had to do anything but change the oil in the 6 years I’ve owned it. The tires are the same Michelins that came on it and have no dry rot and still have plenty of tread. I did replace the exhaust with flowmasters to give it a deeper sound, but not too loud. I had it checked out when I bought it and there was no evidence of any accidents. I have used it only as an occasional driver on nice days, but I have made a few 4 hour trips and wouldn’t hesitate to drive it anywhere. It was repainted prior to me acquiring it and is a Beautiful Blue/Silver and shiny. There are a few very minor scratches, but looks great. Chrome is in Great shape with only very minor pitting if any. Most Glass is original, but I think the windshield is a replacement. Seats are like new. Carpet is in great shape, but has some fading. White top is in Great shape. Radio sounds good with no static or engine noise and power antenna goes up and down. Headlights rotate as they should, but one is a little slower than the other. Everything works except the odometer. Title lists mileage as 61,901 “Exceeds” mechanical limits. I am selling because I’ve already purchased another vehicle. You can see the DUKW (Amphibious Military Vehicle) in the background in some of the pictures. I may consider taking a trade-in of significantly less value. Make me an offer. I will require $1,000 payment within 48 hours of auction close and balance at pick-up. Please feel free to contact me with any questions by email or phone Cameron: (540) 520-0892 and come see car or have someone inspect it for you before bidding. I will work with buyer to arrange shipping or deliver on trailer anywhere in CONUS for $1/mile. Reserve is very low as I want to sell the car. I have the car advertised locally and reserve the right to end auction early. I have the car advertised locally and reserve the right to end auction early. Thanks to helpful ebayers, I have found the following information: Number on Block: Can't read (might start with V10) Casting # for Block 3858174 Intake # 3872783 H315 (Aug 31, 1965) Body: A-1896 Assembly Date: D05 (5th week of Nov, 1965) Style: 66 467 Trim: STD. (black) Paint: 980 (trophy blue) I just got the oil changed yesterday and took pictures of the frame while it was on the lift. Mechanic said "It's solid". Email or call and I can email you pics. Reserve is not too far away. Go ahead and bid. You might just get it. On Sep-04-11 at 06:04:29 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: Tach stopped working while driving on Thursday. It turns out, it's just the tach cable broke. I ordered another one on Friday which is scheduled to be delivered on Tuesday (day the auction ends). I will have it installed as soon as it comes in on Tuesday so everything will be working by the time you pick it up. Car runs perfectly and purrs! Drives and steers great! Exactly as it should. It's fast, tight, starts good, stops good. You won't be disappointed driving this car. Car does not smoke, burn, or leak oil. I'm happy to show it to as many people want to look anytime between now and auction end. You can see the garage floor where it's been parked for over a year. An occasional drop of oil. More info I've learned speaking to other ebayers: Two different people who have riden in the car have said that it seems more than 300HP. It's pretty fast and I just assumed it was 300HP. The valve covers are for a 350HP car. We would assume the engine was rebuilt and bored slightly over giving it more HP. This would explain why the numbers aren't there because it was decked at that time. The other possibility is that it was an unstamped block. According to one person who spoke to an NCRS judge, they think it looks like the original markings from the factory and that it could just be an unstamped block of which there are documented cases. Any of this would have happened long before I owned it and doesn't really matter to me. The fact is, it's a great, fun, reliable car to drive and looks great. On Sep-05-11 at 13:51:33 PDT, seller added the following information: WINDSHIELD WIPERS DO NOT WORK. I'm not sure why. I was just going over everything with someone on the phone and checked. I'm pretty sure I've never used them, so I don't know if they have ever worked since I've had the car. Everything else does work exactly as it should except the odometer and the tach which should be fixed by tomorrow assuming the cable gets here. Thanks to everyone for their interest. Good Luck.
