This car I am listing for a friend that wants to clean out the garage. The car is a 1998 Ferrari 456GTA. This car has been in the garage for a few years and was not driven much during this time. Prior to being put in the garage it was a daily driver to work about 1 mile round trip. It was also taken on trips out of town. The last work to be done on the car was replacing the wind shield and trim, both fuel pumps and filters. The fuel pumps were reinstalled with a special bushing (see photo) so that the alcohol in the fuel will not destroy it. The fuel cell was removed and completely cleaned to new condition(see photo). The fuel system was then flushed completely. The alternator was repaired and new belt installed. This car has had the 30K mile maintance done. The next one is scheduled at 45K miles. On August 28, 2011 I found the following service orders for the car. The transmission has been serviced 9-1-11 I looked at the transmission fluid and it is clean red and smells great and at the correct level. and the timing belt and tensioner replaced along with the spark plugs and some other minor work. It is as follows milage then date and service performed. 12,562 12-07-00 Engine hose replaced Campaign 70 Skid plate. 16,279 5-03-01 Replace rear shocks. 6-6-02 Rear Tires 27,043 6-11-02 Balance tires and Performance Alignment. 27,333 7-29-02 Transmission Fluid service, Axle Fluid service, Oil and Filter, Plugs, Flush Brakes, Reset Suspension light. 29,937 1-23-03 Drivability issue resolved, Coolant leak radiator repaired at local shop, Front and Rear Brake Pads replaced. 35,094 6-11-03 Timing Belt Job, Blower Motor Controller. 10-27-03 Thermostat and Coolant replaced 8-1-11 Fuel pumps and fuel filters replaced, Altenator repaired at local shop with new belt. I was told today that the steering colum was replaced because the old one felt funny. I don't know what funny is but if it is in the steering or brakes I would want it fixed :) The steering colum was purchased as a complete unit and installed into the car. Car now drives as a Ferrari should. The issues... The dash and rear deck leather has shrunk and become loose. Easy fix for a tinker. See pictures. The drivers door window track seems loose at the bottom rear and I will have this looked into further could just be a lose mount at the bottom of track. Today 9-1-11 I took the drivers door down and found one screw had come off. I retrieved it and reinstalled it. The track was just a little bit off so I adjusted it for about two hours before it was perfect see video of it working correctly. This window regulator has been replaced in the past. Today 9-1-11 the air bag light was off during my test drive. The stereo is gone. The CD changer is still in the trunk. There are some scratches to the inside of the trunk trim and the trunk seal is torn in a few places. This all to be credited to a local repair shop. There is some delamination of the placard around the a/c controls see pictures. The suspension light is on I was told by the owner that there was a procedure to reset it will look into this also. If you know how to reset please email me. 9-1-11 ofter resetting the light it came back on in just a few minutes of driving. I removed the tranny cover and the rear ride height is working fine. The last picture shows a spot on the roof by the back glass the paint has lifted. It looks to me like a body seem in this location but not sure why it is lifted see picture. The air conditioner, electric windows door and fuel lock, rear deck electronic release, remote control anti theft, horn, etc.?? all work fine. All manuals owner and service the complete tool kit is in the trunk. The car has a few door dings that my friend at Dent Works said could be removed with ease. I have seen his magic it is a wonder what he can make go away. If you want this done before you pick up the car let me know there will be a $150 charge for the dent removal. The front bumper has a small chipped out place could be repaired see pictures. Over all the paint job is still in great shape but for a 13 year old car that was driven a lot it has some spots from bugs, sap, rocks, and rubs. Remember this was a driven car not a look pretty in the corner. I drove this car after replacing the fuel pumps. I put about 50 or so miles on it around town and on the road. I even used it to pick up my daughter at school 3 days in one week. I find no issues with the way it drives. This car is very responsive to throttle input. It handles just as you would expect it too. The transmission is perfect. Brakes will stop on a dime and give you change. And is being offered for sale locally so I retain the right to end the auction early if sold locally. This car is located in Alexandria, Louisiana at a new car dealership and can be loaded onto a carrier with ease. You will be responsible for shipping or picking up the vehicle.
