This is a 1959 Chevrolet Fleetside pickup truck. This is a functional driving truck, not just something that sits on the side and looks good. I've used this every day I've owned it. I have owned the truck since 1976 when it had 94,000 miles on it. I am the 2nd or 3rd owner. It came stock with a 6 cylinder which has been changed out over the years with a 350 V-8 and a 700-R4 automatic transmission. I've put more than $10,000 into the drivetrain. The rear end has new seals and bearings; the drive shaft has had U-joints replaced; the leaf springs have been re-arced; it has new wrist pins on all 8 points; front axels have been replaced; king pins have been replaced; bushings have been replaced and front end has been aligned by Bear Alignment; steering box has been replaced; stock drums are in the rear but the front end has been converted to disc brakes; truck was completely rewired, not messy old stuff, broken wires or anything, it's all new; alternator was just recently replaced, along with the radiator. The 600 series Holly carburetor has recently been traded out for a clean one; and the distributor has been changed to an HEI (High Energy Ignition) system. Since all the work has been done on it, the engine has about 30,000 miles on it and everything else, suspension, transmission, etc., has less than 15,000 on it. The body is straight with a little rust here and there and the 8' 1" bed is perfectly square. It has California Deep Dish Smoothies with Baby Moons. The truck has been painted 3 times since I've owned it. The last time it was painted was 12 years ago and the paint is failing. It comes with a fiberglass tonneau cover that I got cheap because it was freight damaged. It shows fracturing in the fiberglass at the front. it's never been a problem but, cosmetically, it would need to be epoxied before repaint. The rear bumper is a modified step bumper. All interior parts, including the heater, are original and functioning and I have an extra guage cluster. The odometer needs a new cable. When I replaced the tranny I didn't get the cable set up. The truck comes equipped with a slap shift speed shifter. The seat's been reupholstered as often as it's been repainted. The seat frame is good, seat adjustments all work properly, but it is in need of reupholstering. The windshield has been replaced with a factory tinted window by All American Glass, including new seals and chrome surround. Back window does not leak, but I have a new seal for the glass, which will come with the truck. All windows function and are unbroken, but show considerable age. I also have all new door seals and headliner seal. Last but not least, it comes with a 1950's police spotlight. The reason for selling it is I have a van now, not much use for an open vehicle.
