1968 Dodge Dart 270, 318 with automatic, factory A/C (currently removed) car. To my knowledge the car has 172,000 miles and is original engine with one rebuild around 100,000 miles. My research shows it is numbers matching but the engine was manufactured in early 68 before stamping the vin number on the block was mandatory. But through my research of the vin and fender tag everything matches up and makes sense. Have extra hood, 5X4-1/2" bolt pattern rear end and front disk brake set up off 72 Dart (not installed), car cover and other extra parts. Have owned the car for 5 years and since put a new vinyl top on, new front seat cover and new carpet kit to name a few. Trunk had some surface rust and one spot rusted through the size of a Silver Dollar. I fixed the hole and rust in trunk, painted with Por-15, see pictures. The car is solid and in great shape after fixing the minor trunk rust. No bondo in the body that I could find with a magnet. Headliner near perfect as well as dash and rest of interior. New carpet kit was the last thing I installed this Spring. Floor boards looked great and are solid, any minor surface rust I saw was treated with wire brush, primed and painted to seal it up. Runs great only needs a little exhaust work, tune up and maybe a engine tightening for any small oil leaks and so on. In my opinion the car could be driven across country if needed with minor attention to mechanical issues before leaving.
