Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Selling my 1974 BMW 2002 . The car was purchased in 2008 from my brother who owned it for 10 years before selling it to me. The odometer stopped working over a year a go and is stuck at 7387 (the engine was rebuilt in the mid nineties). Since owning the car I have put less than 500 miles per year as living in New York doesn't necessitate driving on a daily basis. I mostly drove this car on the weekends and would drive to DC once every 6-8 months. It is a 4 cylinder with the converted 5 speed 320i upgrade. I need to force it a bit to get to 1st but, the rest of the gears are smooth (it has a short throw shifter). The biggest issue is rust on this vehicle as the New England winters are brutal to this car. The additional dents and dings in the front and rear are from non-parallel parking New Yorkers who use their bumpers as gauges to fit into tight spaces which pushed in the right fender into my passenger side door. The blower motor just went out and will need to be replaced for the upcoming winter months. The gas pedal will need to be re-welded to the floorboard. The horn is not working and there is some rust in the exhaust. This car did not pass inspection due to the horn not working and a few pinholes in the exhaust. The interior was custom done with custom speaker boxes in the front foot wells and the headliner is in great condition with no stains or tears and is sagging due to the Dynamat losing its adhesion. I also have new carpet set for the car. The seats are Recaro knock-offs with manual air bladders to add support to the lower lumbar. I have receipts going back to the mid nineties to the present listing all of the costs and work done on the car from the MBQuart front speakers, Polk rear speakers, Bilstein shocks, H&R Springs, Custom interior, Alpine CD player, Weber 38 carburetor, Front drilled disc brakes, Moto-Lita steering wheel, Bugatti wheels (discontinued), etc. This car was definitely better looking in the Mid-Atlantic temps and in garaged conditions. All it needs is a new enthusiast to return it to its glory days--the hard work is done.
