Vehicle Detail
Great old custom Caddy 4 door Deville hardtop up for auction with NO RESERVE. Over 12k invested as well as much time and love. Service records included. Last year for the famous Caddy FINS! We call her "Lily" and she's been a member of the family for almost 10 years. 93k original miles, 427 V8 Caddy motor. Options include power windows, power bench seat, power steering and brakes. Here's a list of the extensive mechanical work we've done over the years. New Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor ($500 plus installation) with electronic choke and all proper gaskets and adapters. Front end done in 2009: ball joints, idler arm, bushings, tie rods and heavy duty coil over shock absorbers. Rear axle has adjustable air shocks which allow for raising the car up when you've got lots of people aboard. Handling is tight and responsive, no play in steering wheel or wandering on the highway. We also did the entire braking system: new master cylinder and brake booster (lots of labor to change the booster), new brake pads and wheel cylinders all around, Caddy has a nice firm brake pedal, no "fading" or pulling. I recently put in the Pertronix electronic ignition with the Flamethrower coil, I kept the original "points" setup and is included. I also did plug wires, platinum plugs and distributor cap (stuff that's simple enough to tackle myself), just needs a timing adjustment now as I don't have a timing light. Functional dual exhaust through top of the line baffled Patriot sidepipes with all pipes from the engine welded properly, no clamps. The addition of the sidepipe exhaust gives the Caddy a good 20-30 extra horsepower by allowing the 427 to breathe easy and gives the car a nice low growl as well an awesome custom look. No leaks from anywhere, garage floor always dry when I pull her out. We added a fan shroud for the radiator, temperature holds steady even in stop and go traffic in hot weather. Wipers, horn, all brake and directional lights work properly, even fender mounted turn signal indicators (looks great at night!). Cosmetic: We had the Caddy painted in 2007, over $4000 in the paint job alone. Caddy was originally white, no color change. Paint is a nice white metalflake which glitters in the sun. Well done "ghost" flames on hood and front fenders as well as custom gray and white "snakeskin" pattern on panel between windshield and hood and across grill. The old school "Sailor Jerry" tattoo style mural on the trunk is very well done; it's painted on, not vinyl, and gets compliments everywhere we go. When the car was painted the shop put heavy "diamondplate" metal between the sidepipes and the front fenders to prevent the heat from discoloring the paint. Some small bubbling on passenger side front fender and forward of the passenger side wheel skirt, only noticeable up close. The front bumpers shines nicely, the rear bumper is a bit dull but straight and the stainless trim is in very nice condition. The Cragar wheels are 18's with Pirelli tires all around, wider tires in the rear. Tread is good but front tires are showing some dry rot. It took much trial and error to find mag wheels that fit and allowed the Caddy to keep her fender skirts on! Vinyl top is in great shape, no tears or fading and shines nicely when cleaned up. Floors and trunk are solid, never patched. Interior: Previous owner redid the door panels, headliner and sun visors in the original design and color as well as a new carpet and reupholstered kick panels (all black). Seats were good condition and did not require reupholstering. Seats are leather with no rips or open seams, just some light cracking in the leather on the driver's side front seat. Dash is perfect with no cracking, warping or fading. Back deck is a bit faded but presentable. Power windows work well, no help required going up or down. Small "butterfly" windows are manual and work. Power bench seat works in all directions. The heater and defroster work properly through all vents, no a/c. Original AM radio works through the dash speaker (gets really good reception!) as well as the original power antenna (antenna goes up and down by pushing in or pulling out volume knob on AM radio). Kenwood satellite stereo with Ipod plug custom mounted in glove box with remote (does not interfere with glove box door), four small JBL speakers inside cabin, two under dash and two at each corner of back deck, nothing cut. 10" Bazooka subwoofer bass tube in trunk, Caddy really rocks when you turn up the music! Stereo system alone cost over $1200. Antenna is connected to factory radio, so you use the AM radio whenever you want to hear the news or stuck in traffic :) Cruises nicely on the highway, holds the road perfectly. Runs very strong, tracks straight as an arrow and brakes evenly, no pulling or fading. She always starts right up, shifts smoothly, stops easily and the suspension is luxurious. Drives overall like a Caddy should. VIN is 64B1014293. She's one of a kind; we always get people honking, waving and asking if they can take photos whenever we take her out. Nice classic custom Caddy which will only appreciate in value.
