Vehicle Detail
Lowered 1957 Chevy 210 wagon, Oakland built, factory v8 car, “California” one piece front bumper, original front and rear seats, new tires (less than 50 miles), most everything works (lights, gauges, etc). All the glass is intact, and I have all the trim (inside and out). The body is very straight all rust issues have been patched, most body work and straighten done, (does have a couple spots that still need to be “tuned up”). Car is currently primed with DuPont primer filler (not just a half ass rattle can job thrown on for the sale). Engine is a late model 350 4-bolt main, with a fresh Holley 650 cfm, new electric fuel pump, new distributor, wires plugs etc. The transmission is the original cast iron power glide I recently flushed it and it works really well with the exception that it won’t shift out of 1st till it gets warm, I believe it’s the shift piston o-rings, been told they dry out on the old power glides when they’ve sat for awhile. Overall this car is in very nice condition and is very complete, it was lowered by cutting 2.5 coils out of the front and flipping the rear shackles, goes down the road very comfortably and has plenty of get up and go when you need it, will easily do 65-70 on the freeway all day long, clear registration (I was driving it every day last summer). This is an old car that sat for a long time so as expected not everything works. All the important lights work (headlights, taillights, etc) sometimes the right hand blinker will work and sometimes it won’t, the dash lights don’t work but I’ve never messed with em (usually they’re an easy fix). It’s missing the heater and fan (I might have one), speedo is not hooked up, the oil light and temp gauge do work (but I don’t trust them), I rebuilt the master cylinder but sometimes it won’t release? was planning on replacing it with a dual cylinder so I never messed with it (could be an easy fix), the starter solenoid is kind of grumpy and sometimes you gotta bump it a few times. There isn’t too much interior I have the passanger side front and rear door panels (good for patterns) the headliner is actually in decent shape, the springs and padding on the seats are good, but the covers are mismatched and old, the floors where replaced (not by me), they welded in some really thick sheet metal not the prettiest job but works fine. The exhaust is 2” through glasspacks and dumps at the rearend, it does NEED to be either run out the back or at least have some turn downs added because after awhile you’ll start getting all Cheech and Chong! The paper work is clear, current and in my name. I’ve done my best to accurately describe this vehicle and all its flaws, it’s not my intention to hide anything but with cars of this age and condition there are always issues! Please ask all questions you need to satisfy yourself before bidding, I am more than happy to answer questions, take additional photos, show the car in person, etc. BY BIDDING ON THIS CAR, YOU ARE ACCEPTING IT WITH ALL OF ITS FALTS AND IMPERFECTIONS; YOU ARE BIDDING TO BUY, NOT TO LOOK.
