Vehicle Detail
*NO RESERVE* This truck was sitting in an enclosed location for a long time when I got it. I have replaced all of the wheel cylinders, master cylinder and brake shoes. I feel this truck will make a good daily driver. I have to sell it due to medical bills piling up. It runs and sounds good! I drive it around for a couple miles from time to time to keep it lubed up. It is ready to be registered but I haven't been able to due to shortage of money. The seat is really tore up and will need to be redone, that is why there is a seat cover on it. The floor boards in the passenger compartment are surprisingly in very good condition. The only rust that is noticable is a small area on the very front of the bed on the floor where the tool box had been bolted down for years. There is a rust hole on the left side fender where grain (it was a farm truck) had collected and absorbed moisture from time to time. And lastly, there is rust on the bottom of the tailgate but the tailgate works fine. The frame looks excellent. This truck was made in Dallas TX at the old Ford plant. in 1963. The truck has the original AM tube radio that works once the tubes warm up! LOL. I sit in it and imagine how the original owner was sitting in this very truck in 1963 when it was brand new, and listening to the news about the Kennedy assasination. It has the original 292 V8 engine in it with an oil bath air cleaner. I have a lot of spare parts in the tool box (see pict) like mirrors and hard side panels for the door (it has zipper ones on the doors) and hub caps that fit a different type of wheel.. I also am throwing in an old Motors repair manual that covers 1963 cars and trucks and it basically has all the information you need to repair it. You can also get a ton of new replacement parts online at LMC truck.com. The clutch works good and does not seem to slip any. The column shifter linkage is a little worn. If you don't know how to shift a 3 spd column you problebly will get it locked up in 2nd gear until you learn how to shift it right. You just have to stop and get out and move the levers into neutral if it happens. I never seem to have a problem with it because I know how to shift it so it won't do it. It doesn't seem to burn/smoke oil and there isn't any leaks oil or antifreeze that I can see. The speedometer cable is broken so the speedometer don't work and the mileage is probably much greater than indicated. It has a 114" Wheelbase. Obviously you can tell I am trying to be as honest and open about the truck as I can. I think it's a great deal and really hope someone gets it to continue restoring it to preserve it's history. No A/C, no power brakes, no power steering, no power seats, no power windows, this is a Manly truck and a lot of fun to drive !!! Buyer is responsipble for shipping and pick up of vehicle. $300. deposit required within 48 hrs of winning bid/end of auction. Pay Pal is accepted for the deposit. This truck is as is, as It is very old and I have only driven it around home. It currently runs very good and I do not hear anything that would seem to indicate anything is wrong with it. Everyone that I haved talked to has agreed that this truck is worth every bit of $1800 and more! Thank you for considering the truck.
