Vehicle Detail

Gorgeous, super clean 1974 Caddy Eldo convertible up for auction! 129k, 500 V8. Options include thermometer on driver's mirror, passenger side mirror and 60/40 split bench power seats which work perfectly and telescoping and tilt steering wheel. All original including am/fm auto-seek stereo which works. Mechanical: new exhaust system from engine back in December 2009, done right with Walker muffler and resonator, Caddy runs nice and quiet. Last summer I did new front brake calipers, brake hoses, rotors and pads as well as a new radiator and hoses, new belts as well as four wide whitewall all season radial tires (over $2000 total). Front end is nice and tight, no wandering. Garage floor is always dry when I pull her out. I bought the Caddy in Spring 2010 from an older gentleman in upstate New York who did most of the work to the car then had to sell due to poor health. He owned it since the early 80's and told me the mileage is actually 29k but I cannot confirm so assume it's 129k. My mechanic told me it may very well be the original mileage considering the overall mechanical and cosmetic condition. Cosmetic: convertible top replaced in 2005, top goes up and down easily with the push of a button. All power windows work well. Interior is very nice, both power seats work in all directions and the air conditioning and climate control work properly through all vents, a/c compressor turns on but does not blow cold. The telescoping steering wheel feature will need adjustment, it does not lock into place. The Caddy was painted in 2009, and all front and rear fiberglass bumper and fender fillers replaced. The Eldo got new weatherstripping when the car was painted on the front pillars, all convertible top weatherstripping including up front where it meets the windshield and new weatherstripping in the trunk. The bottom of the drivers seat is showing some wear, light cracking in the leather, carpet is a bit faded and the dash has some small sun cracks, only visible up close. The bumpers are a bit dull but straight and the stainless trim is in very nice condition. Floors and trunk are solid, never patched, underside clean, the Eldo has been a Garage Queen all her life. The paint is exceptional, has a nice metalflake finish that glitters in the sun. The paint job alone was over $4000. Not a single scratch, dent or bubble in the paint anywhere on the Caddy. Trim and wheel skirts in great shape (74 was the last year the Eldo got wheel skirts). She's just a pleasure to look at. Cruises nicely on the highway, holds the road perfectly. Runs very strong, lots of power, tracks straight as an arrow and brakes evenly, no pulling or fading. She idles perfectly (rebuilt carb) shifts smoothly, stops easily and the suspension is luxurious. Drives overall like a Caddy should. VIN is 6L67S4Q409062. Nice classic Caddy which will only appreciate in value!
