Vehicle Detail
This is a really nice Plymouth Fury from 1964. Below you will find the details. Overall this is a solid car with some rot in the lower fender panels which has been repaired. There is some surface rust in various areas of the car but nothing beyond repair. In terms of restoration I would say that this is pretty big project but within the scope of something a first timer would be able to accomplish. To make the car a cool driver is much easier. Some minor mechanical maintenance and reupholstery and you're ready to hit the road. Mechanical:Engine:The engine runs good and quiet. It starts easily and has plenty of power. There is some smoke from the exhaust but I would expect that from a car this old.Transmission:The transmission shifts through out it's range and does not seem to have any slippage. The pushbutton shifter is fully functional.Differential:The rear end is quiet and the universal joints seem tight. Overall the engine and drive train are in good working order.Brakes: I have not inspected the brakes but the car stops even though the pedal is low. This sully indicates that the brakes need adjustment (it has drum brakes all around, and for those of you not as old as the car...yes, they needed adjustment from time to time)Steering:The steering seems pretty good and without excessive play.Battery:the battery is new and the generator (yes it has generator and an external regulator) works.Body:The lower panels have some rust that has been repaired. I cannot attest to the quality of the repairs but they appear to be adequate for appearances but probably would have to be redone for a full restoration. The paint is excellent but is not original. The glass is all intact. All of the winnows go up and down and the door latches all work. The headliner is poor. The seats are poor as you can see from the pictures. The dash is intact and only the gas gauge is not working. The lights work but a few bulbs need to be replaced. If you have any other questions please e-mail me and I will get you answers as best I can. I can assist with shipping if necessary. Bid early as this is a no reserve auction...the high bidder gets the car.
