Vehicle Detail

1983 Porsche 911SC RE-LISTING DUE TO NO-PAYING BIDDER. DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU INTEND TO BUY. I WILL SEEK REIMBURSEMENT OF LISTING FEES AND LOST OPPORTUNITY COST FOR ANY NON-PAYING BIDDERS. THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION, THE HIGHEST BIDDER GETS THE CAR. Solid car, a strong runner and a good solid base for anyone looking to build up a 911 project at a very reasonable price. We were planning on making it a bit of an RS clone, with backdated exhaust for some more power and backdated styling, but have to focus our attention on other projects. EngineTop-end rebuilt just over a year (and 12K miles ago) at Formula Motorsports http://formulamotorsports.com/ Previous owner spent thousands to ensure the motor was solid. DrivetrainRecent Clutch and helper springs. Transmission runs through the gears smooth although 1st gear requires a more enthusiastic push of the gear lever not uncommon with 915 gearboxes. Suspension and SteeringDrives straight and smooth, everything is tight. BodyDefinitely repainted at some point in the car's life, but there are several chips (especially in the front bumper) and other nicks / scratches as shown in the pictures, but the car is solid overall with no notable rust and it looks clean and presentable overall. Probably best described as a 5-footer. Fog light lens is cracked, but I have a replacement on the way. InteriorClean and presentable, but does show some wear that comes along with it's age. Sunroof Cable recently replaced, all windows and mirrors work. Modern JVC stereo with aux input. A/C currently in-operable, but I have updated compressor, lines and evaporator. Just need a bracket and blower motor to have complete setup for updated A/C. Heater fan blower motor is also in-operable. If we went through with our project, we were going to run headers and eliminate the heat and A/C all together so we never bothered fixing it. All-in-all a good solid car that could be a great base for someone's custom porsche project or driven and enjoyed as-is. This car is part of the fleet at the Classic Car Club Manhattan. We own, maintain and insure a fleet of cars for our members to drive. Our cars receive all regular maintenance and receive a checklist every time they are driven to ensure that everything is in working order and that the levels are topped off. Unlike many classic cars that sit, un-driven, we rely on this car to go out with our members, get them to their destination and come back, so you can rest assured that the car is tested and reliable. We're still using the car, so mileage may increase slightly before end of auction.
