Normal 0 1953 Chevrolet Side Mount 3100 pickup that is a nice all solid steel truck powered by the proper 216cid engine, 1v carburetor, 3-speed transmission, this is finished in a pretty Transport Blue color with painted off white striping around the cab, chrome front and rear bumpers along with the chrome front grill that looks impressive, dual chrome side mirrors, chrome trim rings, hub caps that yields cute 'eyes', wood bed, solid under chassis, here presented as a slightly older restoration that has been gone through and refreshed for Summer 2011 by Fraser-Dante of Atlanta. The following is taken from the Fraser Dante listing: Normal 0 History: this is one of the most popular collector vehicles of the Millennium, the design from Chevrolet's Advance Design Light Division started in 1947 and ended with the First Series 1955 truck, VIN#H53J004101 has a fresh Georgia legal registration, this is equipped with four Allstate 6.50x16 whitewall tires that look good, these have nice tread but not brand new, dual rear view mirrors, fresh stained dark stained wood bed, the magnet sticks virtually everywhere, it is important to have full steel trucks for the value to hold, many pieces are not even remanufactured today, nice lines with note that the passenger door has a minor crease in the side but the steel is so strong, this cannot be pushed out, it is hard to see but noted in this report, note the pin striping around the cab is in hand painted off-white along with the side mount tire for a great look, the paint is nice, see the professional 'finishing' just completed. Normal 0 Interior: correct Naugahyde factory interior is full done, the factory correct bench seat, the proper door panels are a factory correct combination of new cardboard finished panel with the remainder steel inner door skin, the new full headliner is nice as well and finished as the door panels (both replaced after the photos were taken), good door handles inside and out, running boards are correct black, has the step plates, hard to find working horn, hard to find full correct gauges with oil pressure, fuel gauge, amp meter working, the speedometer works, has a glove box, the heater is there and appears to work, nice quality dark wood bed just redone with layers of fresh varnish, the sides of the bed are just touched up. Normal 0 Engine/running: the engine compartment is nicely detailed, correct 216 cid engine, casting is #3835849 for the block and the stamping is LBM37183, the head is correct with proper valve cover, one barrel carburetor, fresh show spark plugs, wires, belts and hoses, the exhaust is stock from the exhaust manifold to the tail pipe, this just purrs as set by top technician the rear end is lubed, 3 speed transmission on the column works as it should, the radiator is flushed with fresh fluids, all hoses and belts are new, the full braking system has been just been expertly redone alone with proper parts and then road checked, this is important for a show truck that you can drive safely, most people do not even check the braking as Fraser Dante does, photo documentation shows their condition, solid driver under chassis , the 16" rare wheels with the body colored wheels, the trim rings, the hubcaps and older whitewall bias ply tires add the finishing touch, working wipers along with horn that work now, hard to find heater.
