Vehicle Detail
This 1948 Dodge Power Wagon is in beautiful, mint condition. Mechanically sound, there is no rust anywhere. The wooden bed has been replaced with new oak and triple-coated with marine varnish. Truck was re-painted about 10 years ago and still looks great. It has a direct-drive 8 ton winch that is good for pulling stumps or things like that. Oversize Michelin radials look great and give it a bit more speed. I can't say if it has the original engine, but it is a correct 230 cubic inch flathead straight six. The engine is very strong, doesn’t burn a drop of oil, and the temperature stays at 160’ no matter how long it runs in the heat. The 4-speed transmission shifts smoothly (as long as you know how to double clutch – if not, get your grandpa to teach you how). Not sure about the mileage because the speedometer cable was not connected when I bought the truck 15 years ago. I can prove that it is the actual truck pictured on page 30 of Dodge Power Wagons 1940-1980 Photo Archive by Don Bunn. Truck is sold as-is, no warranty. It is currently registered in Connecticut. It’s just a beautiful truck that turns heads everywhere it goes. If you’re serious about owning a solid, original Power Wagon, you won’t find a finer example outside of a museum.
