Vintage 1965 MERCEDES-BENZ 220Sb 1965 Mercedes Benz 220Sb, 2.2 liter straight 6 cylinder- dual carbs, 4 speed manual, 4 door sedan, last year of the Series W111, Heckflosse…. also know as the “Fintail”. This is truly an outstanding example of one of Mercedes Benz’s finest in mostly original condition. Ivory white (resprayed in about ’83), original interior (beautiful tan leather, but carpet needs replacement and wood trim needs refinishing). Working odometer reads about 35,000 miles…. but, believed to be over 100,000 miles. Since the 80’s this real world classic has only been an occasional driver; it’s in wonderful mechanical condition and is a RUST-FREE Texas-Arizona vehicle. This vehicle is a great Survivor: it is not a Restored vehicle…. it only looks like it. However, there are the expected “garage-rash” and blemishes accumulated after 45 years of use. Recent work done: rebuilt carbs, alternator, & A/C; recored radiator; and replaced front & rear windshield rubber seals. In the 80’s the engine was rebuilt by Mercedes (over $2,000 spent).
