Vehicle Detail
This car was purchased in Germany by the original owners who toured Europe in it, then shipped it back to Montana. I bought it from them in September of 1992. The odo shows 30,100, so it is safe to assume that it is actually 130,100 miles. The engine runs okay but is due for an overhaul. The oil pressure comes right up and stays up when the engine is hot and idling. I don't have compression numbers but there is probably one hole that is weaker. There is no significant smoke or oil usage (some drips though). The transmission shifts fine with no synchronizer issues and the clutch is smooth. Tires (steel Metrics) are several years old but with good tread and no apparent checking. The body is sound but in need of restoration. The paint is a rather rough re-do and the prep was not good. There are flaked spots on the doors at the wheel openings. There is a small bondo spot just aft of center at the right rear wheel opening probably the result of a small scrape. There is also a small scrape forward of the right front wheel opening below the bumper. The bumpers are in good condition but there is a small ding on the top edge of the front bumper just left of center. The drivers seat has a break in the upholstery at the driver's left cheek. The carpet on the drivers side is essentially gone. Both door kick panels are fair to good. The dash has a couple of cracks and is covered with a cloth Dash Mat. Headliner is fair to good. The clock does not work, hasn't for the last 19 years at least. The headlights roll open and closed properly. Since buying this car, I would keep it insured April 15 through October 15 each year and have it listed as out-of-service during the winter months. It was driven to work occasionally, about 65 miles one way. We've toured Yellowstone with it and made several other similar distance trips. It was always to be the "some day" project but, after 19 years, it needs to go to someone with the facilities and time to do it. This is my first item on e-Bay so there is no seller history.
