Vehicle Detail
Due to non paying/non communicating bidder "Novemberfoolsday" from New Hampshire, the Giulia is now being relisted. Please read the auction details carefully and only bid if you can meet the auction requirements. I am offering up for auction at "NO RESERVE" my 1963 Giulia 1600 Spider Normale "garage find" due to an unexpected loss of storage space. Alfa Romeo archives states the following: with reference to your request we are informing you as follows. According to our documentation files, the chassis number AR 375190 originally corresponds to an Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider (101.23), engine series AR 00112, manufactured on the 28th December 1962 and sold on the 8th April 1963 to Alfa Romeo Inc., Newark, USA. The body colour is white, with red interiors. (engine number is AR0012 06800). The Giulia's and Giulietta's are becoming some of the most desireable production Alfa's available today. They are appreciating nicely and premium examples are commanding very high prices and are becoming excellent investments while the market continues to appreciate. With that said, this original un-restored Giulia Spider represents a wonderful opportunity for the Alfisti that always wanted a Giulia or Giulietta, but could not afford their appreciating values. As Alfa Romeo Archives stated, the Giulia was originally white with a red interior. At some point many years ago, it was repainted red. The dash and engine compartment still retain the original white color which will make the restoration back to the original color that much easier. The Giulia has been stored and has not run for many years. It will need a full restoration. The body is very straight and does not show any evidence of any previous accidents. The nose panel is in excellent condition with a near perfect grill. The grill and eyebrows both fit perfectly which shows that they are the original pieces since most were hand fitted at the factory. The headlights and front bumper fit is excellent as well. The interior is all original and still retains all of the original floor mats and carpet. The dash is in good condition and still has the original AM radio. The dash top is not cracked and the dash had not been cut up. The Alfa still has the original rear view mirror as shown in the picture. The door panels are in good original condition - both the front and rear. The Giulia has an original tonneau cover that is quite rare. It's in ok condition with a few spots that have been taped up. The glass is in good shape and the windshield is not cracked, but does have some wiper scuff. The seats are from an early 70's Spider. These are the only items that are not original to the car. The convertible top is in poor shape, but the top frame appears to ok. The Giulia will require a full mechanical rebuild. The car is mechanically complete including the original factory air cleaner assy. I do not know what the condition of the engine is, and would plan on doing a full rebuild. The car rolls freely, so transport will not be an issue. The body is very straight, and does not show evidence of previous body damage. The front and rear bumpers are straight and fit nicely. Both the front and rear valances are in good shape. There is bondo on the left rear quarter panel that is coming off. There are many chips and scratches on the body from many years of storage. The passenger side door has rust on the bottom of the door. There is rust underneath on the floor pan as well as the inner rockers. The exterior rockers are actually in pretty good shape as shown in the pictures. The panel fit is good with no obvious issues. The door latches are a bit finicky and will need some work. Both the hood hinges and trunk hinges are in good shape with no issues. Both the left and right rocker panel trim are in excellent condition which is usually missing. The Alfa is fitted with 4 correct wheels, however there is no spare tire. The original steering wheel is in pretty good shape but will need some restoration work. I do not have any keys. As stated, the Giulia represents a wonderful opportunity to be brought back to it's former glory. To be clear, it will need a full restoration. It is essentially all complete with all of the important components (including the correct engine) which is the most important part of selecting a car to restore - especially with vintage Alfa's where many parts are hand fitted. This will make this a relatively straight forward restoration even for the amateur restorer. These cars are easy to restore when you have all of the important trim pieces and components. As stated, these cars are appreciating nicely, and would make a very sound investment for the Alfisti that always wanted a vintage Alfa. The fine print: If you have 0 feedback or more than 2 negative feedback ratings, you must contact me prior to bidding. A non refundable deposit of $500.00 is due within 24 hours of the auction end date, preferably by Paypal. You must contact me within 24 hours of the end of the auction to discuss the details of the sale. The balance is due within 7 days of the auction end date. The Alfa must be picked up with 10 days of the auction end date. A $10.00 per day storage fee will be charged after the 10 day period unless prior arrangements have been made. I have sold several vintage cars to overseas buyers with the buyers being extremely pleased with the sale. My 100% feedback speaks for itself, so you can bid with confidence. Looking for a great home for my beloved Giulia. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me, I will do my best to answer any questions that you may have. I will consider ending the auction early for the motivated buyer that would like to make a serious offer. I do reserve the right to end the auction early. The Giulia comes with a clear Michigan title.
