Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Sat in a barn in Arkansas for most of its life but purchased in Texas from a 2rd owner with 1536 original miles. Second owner did not have for long since he was planning on riding it as an everyday bike but could not afford to replace a few 37 year old parts. These low mileage originals are hard to find but this bike just needed to be cleaned up, painted and powder coated to a fresh new look. Stripped down to the frame, heavy cleaning performed, replaced bushing, rubber, some nuts and bolts, repaired wire harness, some electrical parts, removed surface rust in some spots. Powder coated frame to original look along with many other parts. Tank had a dent along with paint fade when I first received it but had it repaired, resealed, repainted, clear coated and re-badged. Side cover and rear fender were also done in matching red and re-badged. Front fender was replaced with new Suzuki NOS part since the old one was scratched and a little worn. Replaced tail light assembly, turn signals and a new flasher unit along with new handle bar internal switches and re-upholstered seat. Went back to the original handlebar grips and air cleaner box that was previously replaced with a K&N. I stuck with as much ‘stock’ parts as possible and replaced worn out parts with NOS parts or used if not new and brought everything back to original condition. Some parts are still hard to find for these bikes. Many parts replaced but not all listed here. The rear tire is brand new but the front tire was still in great shape. Brakes and spokes were also in fine shape and were just cleaned. The motor when I first got it needed some new outer O-rings, seals and gaskets which were all replaced. Last owner lost flow from 2 stroke oil pump so all those gaskets were replaced and restored back to full working order. The motor starts on the first kick or two and sounds very tight as a new one should. I found this part to be truly amazing because most of these have piston slap but with such minimal use over the years I guess it should sound new. Now here is one issue not related mechanically. I bought this in Texas but when I received the title I was not aware of the legal procedures of receiving ownership. I own it and have the title but the title is still in the previous owners name not signed in the correct place. There is also a form 130 that was not signed as I took possession which is needed to pay the proper tax to change ownership and register if you plan on riding on the road. If you’re a buyer and in Texas I will give you the original title but you may claim ‘salvage title’ and say it was lost. If you’re not in Texas then it should not matter. The original owner whom I purchased it from will not contact me even though I have tried many times. I believe he moved and has no interest in helping. Review the attached images documenting the restoration process. Any questions can be emailed to bdk437@gmail.com . You can request a call from me if you leave a number or request my phone number and I will respond. This 1974 TS250L does not come with any warranty. I will ship anywhere in the world if you set up the shipping and pay for it in advance. If you’re local I will drive up to 75 miles for delivery after the receipt of funds or deliver to your choice of a shipping company for transport that you have setup and paid for. I am listing this bike at $200 under what I have in it as a start. I took this project on to keep me busy during the winter and do not care if I do not make a profit. It was really just for fun since I owned the 400 model of this bike back in the 1970’s. Good old times!
